years. As you know, we have spent the past three years looking for a great HS space. We have decid ed to build our own building, but need a temporary location while construction takes place. The building that has been selected for our temporary space is IS 195 located on 133rd and Broadway in Manhattan. The space will be shared with two KIPP schools; however KIPP NYC College Prep will have a large percentage of the building for our kids. In order for us to secure the space, we will have to go through one more hearing, which will determine if we are able to move into the school. The hearing will take place on Wednesday, March 23rd at Brooklyn Tech. Please see the flyer attached for more details. This meeting will be a chance for us to speak positively about the work Hello! Freshman Class Trip

This year we will once again be taking those ninth graders who have worked hard and been nice all year to PuertoRico. Those students who went last year had an absolute blast, and we look forward to having even more fun this year.We will land and head to Luquillo Beach for an afternoon of fun in the sun, followed by a catered dinner right there onthe sand. On day two, we’ll explore the Camuy Caverns and then go kayaking through the bioluminescent bay. Theglowing waters of the bay were a huge hit last year! The next day, students and chaperones will hike through therainforest El Yunque, take a swim in La Mina waterfalls, and then dance the night away with Salsa lessons at the hotel, courtesy of our dance teacher Ms. Lauren. On our fourth day we will head to Old San Juan to visit the historical sitesand, of course, to do some souvenir shopping! Finally on our last day we will catch some last-minute rays on the beachbefore boarding our planes back to New York. We are excited! Attendance on the trip is not guaranteed, asstudents must meet grade and character requirements in order to be considered. All students must submit anapplication no later than Wednesday, March 23rd to Ms. Webb, Mr. Imwold or Ms. Wondwossen.
