King Street is an Allergy Aware School

This is a reminder for all families that some of our

students have serious reactions to products

containing nuts and fish.

We ask that you please do not send foods or

containers to school that contain nut or fish

products. This includes nutella and peanut

butter spread.

Planning

It is that time of year again when we are busy

starting to think about the 2017 school year.

If you know that your circumstances will be changing

next year, particularly if you are moving, could you

please let our office staff know as soon as possible.

Accurate planning will help a smooth transition into

2017 for both our students and our staff.

Excitement at the Commencement of CAPA

Groups

Sounds of music, drums, sandpaper and laughter

filled the air on Friday as our students started their

chosen groups. It was so wonderful to see all

students totally engaged in these group tasks.

We are looking forward to seeing what wonderful

things they make and learn over the next few weeks.

When you Receive a

Card from the Queen

Sophie sent the Queen a

card for her 90th birthday and

she was very excited to bring

in her very special letter of

thanks she received from her

Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll,

what a wonderful keepsake.

Annual Town Band Concert

Our next (and final) rehearsal for the Annual Town

Band Concert is at the Singleton Town Band Hall in

Bowman Street at 5.30pm on Monday, 31st

October. Parents and carers, please make sure you

sign your child in and out of the rehearsal at the

back of the hall. Because parking is difficult in

Bowman Street, we are asking that parents park in

York Street and walk the short distance to the hall.

Please note there will be no band rehearsal or

lessons in week 3. It is very important that band

members attend all rehearsals this term as we

prepare for the Town Band Concert on Saturday 5th

November.

Our Kinder Transition

Students Settling in Well

We are so impressed with

how well our new Kinder

Transition students are

settling into class. They had a

fantastic day yesterday doing craft, recognising their

names, putting their hands up, listening and doing

everything that Kinder should be doing. They will

certainly be ready for Kindergarten in 2017.

Collaboration Space Learning

Our Collaborative learning space was a hive of

activity on Tuesday morning with Ms Garven setting

4/5G the task of transporting her ‘duck’ across the

‘ocean’.

Students had to collaborate as a team and use their

STEM skills (Science, Technology, Engineering and

Maths) to build a raft or boat that could do this. They

were given materials and a budget and off they

went! As always their teamwork was outstanding

and the thought that went into their creations was

very impressive.

S2S Grumpy Dog Descriptions

This is a dog. This dog is angry and has very sharp teeth. This dog has a black nose for smelling and brown scary eyes. This dog looks super fast! He looks faster than Usain Bolt. This dog is playing with a shiny red ball that has slobber all over it. This dog is black and white and very cute.

Jack P

This is a puppy. His name is Max. He is blonde, fluffy and cute. Anyone would dream of owning him! He is always jumping on you when you sit down. We play a game where I run around and he chases me. I have to clean his poo a lot but I don’t mind. One thing he is good at is swimming. The pool is 20 metres and he does 2 whole laps! We go swimming together and have races. I go easy. Anyway, that is my dog Max.

Julian S

This is a puppy dog. The puppy with the red ball in its mouth is so cute. He is brown, white and black. He is tiny and has floppy ears. My dog is a German Shepherd. His name is Harley. He is a very big dog. He is brown, white and black. He is so playful. His favourite game is fetch.

Nikita E

This is a puppy dog. The puppy has a red and small ball in its tiny mouth and tiny body with a cute small short tail. He has white and black spots on him. He has humongous floppy ears. He has short tiny stumpy legs and sharp claws. My dog is a Great Dane, he is a humongous dog. His name is Milo. He is nearly as tall as me. He has huge feet like a dinosaur. He is a puppy dog, he is only 1 year old. He has spots on him. He likes to play fetch and he says a big loud woof at night when we are asleep.

Jessica F.

This is a dog. My dog is fierce. He always gets really angry when bugs fly around him. It’s really funny. I sit down watching him through the window, his name is Bronsen. He is tan and black with a silver chain. He thinks he is protecting us but he isn’t. But sometimes when people come over he does the same thing, then we have to tell him to stop.
