Children compare an object with paper strips and record if the strip is longer or shorter. Have children find two small
objects, such as a crayon and a pattern block. Name the objects Object 1 and Object 2. Have children draw Object 1 in the first
box on the Recording Sheet. Children then compare the object with each of the paper strips. In the grid, they draw a check
mark to show if the strip is longer or shorter than their object. Have children then repeat with Object 2, using the second grid.
