The Department of Education has revised its attendance

policy for the 2015 school year and beyond. The major

change that affects parents and students of Armidale City

Public School is that exemptions for family holidays during

term time will no longer be granted for students. Students

will be provided with a certificate stating the reason for

leave – family holiday. All days will count against the overall

attendance of a student for reporting purposes. Parents

are encouraged to plan holidays during school holiday

periods and if they wish to discuss this further to contact

Mr Hobbs.

If any parent would like to email me with suggestions or

comments at any time, please do so on the address listed

below.

3/4T CLASS NEWS The students of 3/4T have displayed some fantastic

imaginations and enthusiasm when participating in the “Tell

Me a Story” English unit that we have started with this

year. The written work of 3/4T students has displayed

great flare and a desire to encompass creative twists in

their narratives. I look forward to reading more exciting

narratives over the coming weeks.

The creative arts program has started with some wonderful

and unique interpretations of Jackson Pollock’s abstract artworks. 3/4T students created their own depictions of

his style and added some very creative touches of their own

in constructing abstract artworks.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the

swimming carnival, particularly those students who were

taking part in their first swimming carnival at Armidale City

Public School. There were some fantastic swims and a very

impressive level of student participation from 3/4T. Well

done.
