We appreciate those who have join us in helping with our July Seminary Appeal. This appeal is important in the life of our Seminary as a strong and vibrant place for the NC Synod. As we support this appeal we do so with gifts that we are given, if you haven't already given to this crucial fund please do so in the month of July. Those gifts can be made online or through the offering. Carver Corner We are so grateful for all of the support given to the G.W. Carver Faith Partnership! We have a few opportunities for our congregation to continue to support! We will be collecting $5-$50 gift cards to give to raffle off to teachers at our annual breakfast on August 12 th . We are so excited to host our third breakfast welcoming teachers and staff back to school! We will also be hosting a Stuff the Bus which will be similar to our Angel tree in December. We have gathered lists from all grade levels at G.W. Carver of wish lists. We would love to help support their A+ Magnet school with supplies to get the year off to a great start! We will have wish list items posted on the Carver Board near the ramp. We would ask folks to pick an item and then purchase the item. We will have a bin to collect the items once they are purchased. We would like to present these items on August 12 th . THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for all you do to support the students and teachers at G.W. Carver! YOU ARE NEEDED to help with quilting at church on Monday, July 29 th at 6:30 pm. No sewing skills are needed. If you can tie your shoe, you can quilt and help is needed. The quilts are given to our graduating seniors and sent to Lutheran World Relief.

Kingdom Kids Faith Formation July is time for CAMP. If you have young people that would like to come to Agape Day camp, that

registration is on our Facebook page, cost is $80.00. We have spots for Pre-K through rising 5th grades!

HS/MS Youth looking for Projects for our Stay at Home mission trip July 21-24th

Our HS/MS Youth are doing a Stay-At-Home Mission trip this year and are looking for some projects. We currently have two projects in the

works, but would love more; a short one around 1-2 hours in length.

1. One will be with G.W. Carver working on their courtyard

Project we are doing with Sammie Abernathy.

The projects can be 1-2 hours in length and we would be willing to work for a donation to our Mission

Project Fund.

Summer Volunteers NEEDED- We need your help. If you are willing to help with any of the below, please let Liz or PJ know! Thank

• Provide Snacks for PreK and Agape Summer Camp (5 weeks over the Summer– you pick and

chose)

• Volunteers to help with Morning and Afternoon Snacks during Agape Day Camp

Our Youth are doing a project at GW Carver Elementary School on Tuesday July 23rd and need any help we can get. If you available on Tuesday, July 23rd we will meet

at the church at 8am and head over.

We need folks who can trim hedges, prune a very large Bradford Pear Tree, help weed, trim shrubs, plant flowers and get the courtyard ready for students. Please contact

Liz if you are able to help.

Mark your Calendars

We will be having two events this fall that we would like you to mark your calendars for. Ryan Davault with the Kannapolis City Council will join us on Tuesday September 10th at 6:00pm to update us on what is happening with the downtown development. A light meal will be served. Sign up sheets will be up closer to the event. Sunday October 20th, we will have having a good old fashion picnic. We will have dinner together and activities around the church. October 24th-26th and 28th, we will be doing a NEW CHURCH Directory and we'd like all of our members to participate!

30TH ANNUAL COMMUNITY WOMEN’S PRAYER BREAKFAST

On August 10, 2019 at 9 a.m. the Women of Kimball WELCA will sponsor our 30th Annual Community

Women’s Prayer Breakfast. Invite friends and family from the community. Our speaker will be Nikki

Rainey from Present Age Ministries and the theme for the event will be taken from Romans 12:2—“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed

by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and

acceptable and perfect.”—NRSV. Sign up deadline is July 31st. Sign up sheets are in the Commons and the Narthex, or you can call the

church office.

The Outreach Team is sponsoring a FOOD DRIVE the month of August for Cooperative

Christian Ministry’s Food Pantry.

Please place your items in the food baskets in the Commons or in the box at the Educational

Entrance.
