KidED is a new startup founded in Estonia and based in

London, UK.

Our team is developing unique methods for engaging

children ages 3-8 in education via Android devices.

Parents around the world are worried that their chil-

dren spend too much time in front of screens and not

enough time learning. We created KidEd to solve this

problem.

Children spend more than half of their time in front of a

screen and one in three children uses a smartphone or

tablet before they have even learned to speak. KidED

provides early childhood education through a unique

solution: integrating education into exciting games.

This concept is called gamification.

After the release of our Android app, we intend to

make KidEd available on Chrome and Firefox.

Once KidEd is offered on these servers, our goal is to

develop it to the fit the increasing amount of technol-

ogy in school curriculums.

We have a unique solutionfor early childhood education!

Our method is very simple – by activating KidED, the

application starts running in the background of

children’s screen-time activities. After pre-set intervals,

KidEd pauses ongoing activity, regardless of what it is,

and overlays the screen with a quiz to be solved.

KidEd offers particular value to busy parents, espe-

cially those who struggle to get their children to trade

their games for educational activities.

Most educational apps on the market require parents

to continuously supervise their children to make sure

they remain engaged in that activity. Parents will fre-

quently find that, once left alone, their child returns to

playing their favorite games. KidEd ensures parents

that their children are learning, no matter what game

they are playing or if anyone is checking on them.

With KidED, parents can choose from a wide variety of

subjects, receive in-depth results, and see which sub-

jects their child is doing well in and those in which they

may need more help.

The structure and content of KidED are designed by

a group of cognitive scientists and child psychologists

from the University of Tartu. This ensures that KidEd’s

content is age-appropriate, genuinely educational, and

an effective cognitive development tool.

Equipped with a screen-lock timer, KidED also gives

parents the ability to regulate how long their child can

use a smartphone or tablet per day. We are offering a

fun, unique, and rewarding learning experience for chil-

dren through gamification.

We are currently the only app on the market which

incorporates educational quizzes and tasks into other

activities on the child’s device. With KidED, children

will receive these quizzes regardless of what are they

doing (as long as KidED is active) and parents will no

longer need to constantly supervise their children to

make sure that they are learning. We also provide the

parents with their child's overall results and recommen-

dations on subjects.

1. Set up kid’s profileParent enters a child’s birthday and gender so that KidEd

can customize its program to be more efficient for the

specific child. This also aids in giving parents a more

accurate overview of the child’s educational development.

3. Choose subjectsParents can choose from various subjects and

the app highlights the areas in which their

child may need improvement.

5. Quizzes pop upAfter pre-set intervals KidED pauses the game,

video, or any other activity, and overlays the

screen with a quiz to be solved.

2. Set PINA PIN is necessary in order to stop

children from quitting the learning mode.

Only parents can deactivate KiDED.

4. Start sessionBefore giving the device to a child,

parents need to set the length of

the quiz intervals and playtime.

6. Session endsWhen the set session ends, KidEd is capable of locking the screen. When the

screen lock feature is on, the device can only be reopened by entering the

parent’s PIN code. If that feature is not activated, KidEd will stop running in

the background until the parent starts a new session.
