FROM THE

WELCOME

Dear players, sponsors, parents and fans,

Today we welcome the top of the table APIA Tigers, their coach Daniel Cummins and longstanding President Tony Raciti.

As we progress into the second half of the season, our youngsters are developing extremely well, and this is best summed by the quote from SAP 10s coach Joel Flores: “All the boys played brilliantly today against an opponent that dominated last time we played earlier in the season. Our boys showed great passion for the game, the club and their team mates. There was a lot of great team work displayed including short passing, supporting each other, quick movement of the ball and lots of talking. We should all be very proud of the U10 squad. Today’s two matches were the best U10 games this season. The teamwork displayed today defined both performances. Well done.”

The 14s and 15s have also continued their incredible season with the 15s sitting at the top of the informal ladder, and the 14s putting in an

absolutely scintillating performance last weekend to come back from a two goal deficit to record a 4-2 win, with the heart and passion of this group again on display. We have high hopes for the future of these boys with Hakoah FC over the years to come!

In the seniors the 18s are back on track with a four game unbeaten run, highlighted by two clean sheets and two saved penalties in as many weeks from keeper Jacob Sayle. We’ve had two tough draws against fellow top-5 hopefuls Olympic and Manly, before succumbing to Blacktown City, and the boys will look to get back on the winners list against top of the table APIA! As of writing, we are one win away from an FFA Cup Round of 32 berth, so here’s hoping that Wednesday proves successful and we draw an A-League team to face us at fortress Hensley!

Good luck to all the teams in today’s all-day affair at Hensley starting from 13s all the way to First Grade, and we hope the youngsters stay to cheer on the First Grade and celebrate together with the team song!

It was a return to reality for Hakoah Sydney City East against Blacktown CIty last round but that won’t

stop Gavin Rae’s side from attempting to stop league leaders APIA Leichhardt Tigers. The 2-0 loss at Lilys Football Centre ended a four game unbeaten streak for Hakoah and the boys from Hensley Athletic Field will want to return to that form when they host APIA.Anthony Bouzanis has been a great addition to the Hakoah backline while the return of Andre DeJong has provided them with extra quality at the other end of the park.APIA come into the game without conceeding a goal in their past three games and firing on all cylinders.Danial Cummins side has their eyes firmly planted on winning the premiership and should deliver another strong performance.Hakoah has been a tough customer for the competition’s top sides so this match might not be as cut and dry as it appears for APIA.

REVIEWSBlacktown City FC 2 - Hakoah Sydney City East FC 0 at Lilys Football Stadium

Blacktown City joined APIA Leichhardt Tigers at the top of the PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s table after a streetwise 2-0 victory over Hakoah Sydney City East at Lilys Football Centre on Sunday afternoon.

Mitchell Mallia’s sublime first half free-kick and a header from City skipper Zachary Cairncross helped the hosts build an unassailable 2-0 lead at the break.

Mark Crittenden’s side needed to ride their luck at times during the second half, with Hakoah denied twice by the post, Blacktown diligently ground their way to three points.

City trail the ladder-leading Tigers on goal difference with the Lambert Park outfit three goals ahead of the 2016 PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s champions on the competition table.

Hakoah remain rooted in mid-table after their run of four unbeaten games came to a halt at the hands of their Blacktown opponents.

APIA Leichhardt Tigers hammered fellow championship dark horses

Sydney United 5-1 in last weekend’s match of the round at Lambert Park and will fancy their chances at continuing their excellent recent form when they play Hakoah Sydney City East at Hensley Athletic Field on Saturday.

The Tigers have won seven of their last nine after opening the campaign with three consecutive defeats and in Aedon Kyra and Jordan Morfitis APIA have two outstanding golden boot candidates that have more than made up for the loss of 2016 golden boot winner Duncan Stewart.

Michael Urukalo’s side have seemed to remedy some of their defensive lapses that proved costly at the start of the season which spells danger for a Hakoah side who have struggled for goals (15) and have lost three on the bounce.
