Teachers rallied together at Mount Maunganui and appreciated further support with families that came and joined us and signs that had been made by children and parents/ caregivers. We thank you for keeping your children at home on Wednesday, as we know this is very tricky for families. This week at school we have had Dog Bite Prevention Education and it was very informative. Students learnt many new safety tips. Below are two delightful stories from our Year One tamariki. Today Ange came to school and she bought a fake dog. She taught us about dogs. If a dog is alone you can’t pat them. by Jake When you see a dog on its own stand like a tree and walk away if it starts to come to you. by Flynn Last week we celebrated with the Welcome Bay Lions Club, the new Friendship Seat that has been built and donated to us. Many children have been enjoying sitting under the tree at morning tea and lunchtimes. A big thank you to all those involved in the project in the Lions Club.

A very Big thank you to all of our community for the support you have shown our principal and teachers last week during the strike. KICK Start: Transition to school programmeThis programme is for both new parents and children starting at Welcome Bay School and runs for approximately seven weeks during the term .

Reminder - Community Survey Closes this Friday We look forward to your ideas and thoughts on how we are doing as a school, including what we are doing well, and some ideas to help us be even better. The Tauranga Boys’ College Mud Challenge is a fundraising event to raise money for the Tauranga Boys’ College Rugby Programme. All Money will go directly towards reducing the cost to our families and to improving the Rugby Programme as a whole to ensure a positive experience for all involved.

When: Sunday 26th August 2018, with registrations open at 11:30amWhere: The Start/Finish area will be at Pahoia Domain, a 20 minute drive north of TaurangaWhat: The course will be 6km for teams of 3 and individuals (16 years and over), and 3km ‘kids loop’ for under 16 year olds. We have been very busy in store and we are now conducting a full store stock take.

The Tauranga store will be closed on Wednesday the 29th  of August and Thursday the 30th of August to complete this project. 

We will be open on Friday the 31st of August for business as usual.

ResultsWB Falcons played an exciting quarter final, after being 2-1 down at half time they fought back hard to win 5-2 against Mt Surfsticks. Players of the Day went to Leif De Monchy and Anna Davies.

WB Toroa played Pillans Point Penguins. The Toroa started very strongly and quickly gained dominance.  Everyone played extremely well. The Penguins were short of a player and Leila Perry volunteered to play with them. A fun game and a huge score of 12 - 0. Player of the Day was awarded to Leila Perry and Tai Ratumaitavuki.
