28 MAY 2020 NEWSLETTER
Kia ora Dalefield Whānau, I am sure you were as pleased as I was to hear the Prime Minister’s announcement about
moving to Alert Level 1. For us, there will be no major changes to what we are doing and our
school continues to be safe to attend, including any staff and children who are considered
more vulnerable to COVID-19. We have a good cleaning routine in place, people who are sick
are staying at home and we continue to encourage good hygiene practices.
I want to again reiterate my thanks to all Whānau for the way you have embraced the drop off
and pick up regime we instigated for level 2. Such was the success, the Dalefield hall will
continue to be the designated entrance. Thomas Road will be for staff parking as it deemed
unsafe as a drop off and pick up zone by the Wairarapa Road Safety Council due to its
narrowness. I want to thank students from Mangatarere#2 for their assistance in developing

the plan above. Instead of the entrance by the playground we will
again use the main gate (arrow above). A no stopping zone for
the first 20 metres is in place so that blind corner turning into the
hall circuit is less of a risk - well done seniors! You are of course
welcome as always in the school and parking is available as
indicated at the hall above.
We are supporting contact tracing by having a QR code poster at
our entrance – so if you haven’t already downloaded the NZ
COVID Tracer app the Ministry of Health’s NZ-COVID Tracer app
page has information to help you do that.
New student
