Khas T’an Horsemanship offers a variety of different horsemanship services. With qualified hands on deck, each horse and student will have an opportunity to participate in a focused educational environment enhancing their experience in a very natural and positive way that will maintain long term with commitment and practice.

Kyla is happy to be taking horses in her Colt Starting and Horse Development Program on a first come first serve basis. Each horse will become a part of the Khas T’an Horsemanship family during their stay. Kyla will work closely with horse owners to better understand both horse and owner needs.

It is imperative that all horses arriving have a recent equine dental examination and treatment if required as well as being up to date on de-worming and hoof care. No exceptions. Many issues can be easily addressed by eliminating physical and health compromises. Kyla would like to eliminate any potential physical indicators and risks up front for maximum results and outcomes.

Kyla commits to spending a minimum of 5 x 1-3 hour sessions per week with the horses in their program. Kyla works hard to make the experience for the horses a fun and interesting one through innovative and well-informed horse first philosophy techniques learned through a lifetime of experience and study.

At the end of each horse development program, horse owners will be asked to participate in the last session so that there is a positive and respectful transition for the horse to the owner.

Colt Starting and Horse Development Program

COLT STARTING AND HORSE DEVELOPMENT RATES:

1 Month Minimum

- $800.00 / horse / month

This rate includes 20 x 1-3 hour sessions with your horse and A private transition 1-2 hour session at the end of the month with horse and owner.

This Rate does Not include required Hay and Feed and Horse Board fees (if applicable).

A $150.00 non-refundable deposit is required. Please try to book 1 month in advance.

Auxiliary lessons are available for owners after horse goes home at a reduced rate.

Kyla has an Open-Door Policy. Auditors are Welcome!

Kyla will review prospective horses on a case to case basis with in-depth

attention to detail. Based on experience, Kyla has determined that in many

cases, older horses that have experienced trauma or poor handling may require

a longer time to better solidify a renewed learning foundation. Based on an

initial assessment, Kyla may conclude that your horse require more than a

1 month program. This will be a non-negotiable consideration that will only

apply in more difficult cases where safety and efficacy is of upmost importance.

Young horses under 5 years old may require additional charges for feed.

These horses are still growing & require additional feed & grain. This increase in

board will cover our minimum costs.

Be sure to get your horses enrolled early with your security deposit.

The Colt Starting and Horse Development Program involves techniques that

adequately prepare the horses for many situations in the real world. Kyla incorporates a variety of different learning environments including wilderness

trail outings and indoor/outdoor arena work with the horses. The outdoors and trails are enjoyable for the horses and provide an excellent venue to develop the horses’

emotional, mental and physical well being.

Don’t let the cowgirl hat and western wade saddle fool you. Kyla has background in English disciplines and can incorporate this easily into your horse’s program

if these are your horsemanship goals.

This Horsemanship Program is for All Equestrian Disciplines Kyla takes pride in her ability to give the horses the best deal possible. She works within the philosophies left behind legendary horsemen Bill and Tom Dorrance and Ray Hunt to her best

capabilities, knowledge, understanding and experiences. There is much to be learned by their pre-deceased top students whom Kyla has studies from extensively. Kyla is dedicated to self improvement and ongoing learning and continues to pursue formal education on an

annual basis. It is true, however, that the horses are truly the best teachers.
