Key Stage 1 & 2 Preparing for a Party An exciting and immersive workshop to experience No.1 Royal Crescent and gain an insight into Georgian life as a member of Bath’s polite society. Lady Catherine will welcome you to No.1 and teach you the rules of refined behaviour. Dress up as an elegant Georgian Lady or Gentleman then learn how to use a goose feather quill and ink to write a party invitation. Students will: Learn about Georgian etiquette and social events Handle original artefacts including a shoe buckle and patch box Wear replica costumes Explore the house to identify 18th century objects required for a party Create their own Georgian style letter sealed with wax to take back to school New curriculum links: English (KS1) Spoken Language skills (KS2) Conventions of Writing and Speech History (KS1) Developing an awareness of the past (KS1) Learning about significant people and places in the locality (KS2) Understanding how knowledge of the past is constructed from a range of sources (KS2) Addressing questions about similarity, difference and significance Art and Design (KS1) Use drawing to develop and share ideas, experiences and imagination (KS2) Drawing with a range of materials Maximum 30 students Adults are free Please note: 1 adult for every 5 students required.
