ACC ATHLETICS SQUAD FINAL UPDATE Congratulations to our ACC Athletics Squad Captains who have now been named as a re-

sult of being exemplary attendees at the School’s ACC Athletics training. They have repre-

sented the School at Athletics with pride and diligence over many years. A number of the

Senior Captains have also acted as Sports Leaders mentoring and assisting coaching our

younger students during their time.

JUNIOR SQUAD CAPTAINS (FROM LEFT): Seth Adams, Nathaniel Ettrick, Katie Robertson, Caitlin Chase, Nathaniel Lok, Rohan Elliott, Lucy McCorkindale & Yasmin Furse, Peter Godwin, Daniel Ashby, Madison Kingston & Tyler Pedley

Mention should also be made of the following students, all of whom were worthy considerations for the Athletics Year Group Captain-

cies: Marc Leeming, Kyle Main, Ross Godwin, Richard Hynes, Georgia Morgan, Olivia Fowler, Arnav Sinha, Luke Kelly, Mia Lockwood,

Natasha Amos, Ella Tudor-Roberts, Jack Dunne, Taffy Nyirenda, Jake Minear & Jake Clements.

I have been very impressed with the attitude and commitment shown by all of our ACC Athletics Squad members during Term 3; they

have demonstrated that with persistence and resilience, improved performances will follow. We have an excellent Squad once again

this year and this was recently proven with numerous individual Personal Bests at the Schools Knock Out Carnival in Week 6 and with a

number of the Age Group Teams qualifying to the National Finals. Photographs can be viewed in the School’s Website Gallery.

I am confident that our squad will be very

competitive. No matter what the outcome, I

am sure all our student athletes will do their

very best, and this is all that can be asked of

them. Now is the time to remember our

Athletics Squad core values from which suc-

cess will follow:

Dedication

Hardwork

Ambition

‘Dedication’ and ‘Hardwork’ have been exhibited throughout training; it’s now the ‘Ambition’ that must be used in order to compete for

the top 3 or 4 places in each individual event at the Carnival to ensure overall squad success. Every single student involved, whether

they be competing in 1 individual event or 5 individual events; Division I or Division II; are part of a relay team; are a travelling reserve

who may be called upon; or are acting as a student Official or Marshal, are integral parts of the Squad and have equal importance .

The ‘Final ACC Athletics Squad’ will be published this coming Friday (11th September) as advertised in the Athletics Programme Booklet

and the training schedule will be given to all students. It will also be updated on the Sports Noticeboards in the School and all infor-

mation including event times, divisions and event allocation will be e-mailed directly to parents. No changes will then be made unless

due to unforeseen illness, injury or absence. Students who participate in ACC Athletics are eligible for either Sports Colours or Honours.

NEW FITTED PERFORMANCE SPORTS SHORTS AVAILABLE

The new Peter Moyes ACS fitted performance sports shorts are now available for purchase from the Uniform Shop. The shorts are designed around a performance ‘SKINS’ based garment and are very reasonably priced.

All ACC Athletics students who compete in Sprints, Long Jump or High Jump are encouraged to purchase them for the ACC ‘A’ Division Carnival where the rules for School Team colours to be worn are very strict.

The new fitted shorts can also be used for the following:

ACC Cross Country & ACC Athletics Carnivals. All Inter-House Sporting Carnivals. Although they are not chlorine resistant for Swimming as we have separate Peter Moyes Swimming Bathers for

Inter-School purposes. As an undergarment to the current Physical Education shorts worn by all CAS Teams. As an undergarment to the CAS Netball dresses. Optional item for Physical Education classes.
