Guaranteed access to a Careers South West personal adviser for careers
advice and guidance in Key Stage 4
Guaranteed access, where appropriate, to vocational learning courses.
Guaranteed access to interventions such as mentoring, gifted and talented
events (or equivalent) and activities, motivational and careers-based
opportunities such as visits to university and local businesses.
Guaranteed access, where required, to 1:1 support or small group work for
English and/or Maths
Additional support for writing up their Records of Achievement in Key Stage 4
All students eligible for Pupil Premium will receive an Individual Action Plan to
co-ordinate their support if they are felt to be underperforming.
Attendance
Personal phone call home by attendance officer/LT
Collection of students if required by 1030
Tutor monitoring – challenging conversations, SMART targets for attendance,
Assembly in Sep 2013 and 2014 and weekly monitoring. Review and
additional school assembly after Easter break as slight drop in attendance
each week with competition until end of term for tutor groups as incentive to
remain high. Continued drip feeding this as a key priority all year after each
half term.
Additional support
Two day transition and additional days bespoke packages for vulnerable
students
Literacy and Numeracy (coordinator appointed for Sep 2014)
Action Plan provided with Mentor or Head of Year
Alternative curriculum pathways for students to achieve at own pace but
preparing them for next stage of life.

Monitoring and systems
School target setting process developed Jan-April 2014 to reflect the needs of the college to reflect progress of
key groups. Issue – no two sets of data to compare currently until July 2014
Tracking at KS4 via Raising Achievement Plan Meeting (RAP) meeting Head of Year, SL of English, Maths,
Science Year 11 and include for year 9 and 10 initially in June 2015. Review in Jan 2015 with clear actions
and targets for Eng and Maths for success criteria.
Supported by inviting vulnerable subjects to present data and intervention to RAP Team in response to
concerns over data current or historical over time with SLT
KS3 tracking within Departments and Line management QA both Subject and Head of Year
SISRA analysis tool to ensure easy access to progress data for ‘Key groups’ planned to be rolled out to staff in September 2014
SIMS marksheet established to track progress for English, Maths, H of Y, mentors and tutors
