SOME INFO… In 2016-17, schools will receive funding for each child registered for Free School Meals (FSM) at any point in the past 6 years:
-£1320 for primary pupils-£935 for secondary pupils
Reliant on parents registering their child- this can cause problems

ADVICE FROM OFSTED & 68 SCHOOLS (2013) …
Target pupils early on (KS1 and year 7)
Set up summer schools
Analyse pupil’s data thoroughly, particularly for English and maths
Look at a long term view, not just ‘quick wins’
Don’t forget the more able pupils
