KEVIN SUHERMAN PLAYS CHOPIN, LISZT & MENDELSSOHN Tuesday 21 February 6pm, Salon PRESENTED BY Melbourne Recital Centre ARTIST Kevin Suherman piano PROGRAM Frédéric Chopin (1810–1849) Scherzo No.2, Op.31 Franz Liszt (1811–1886) Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 Felix Mendelssohn (1809–1847) Fantasie in F-sharp minor, Op.28 Frédéric Chopin Andante Spianato and Grande Polonaise Brilliante in E-flat, Op.22 ABOUT THE ARTIST Indonesian-born pianist Kevin Suherman is a graduate of Melbourne Grammar School and also the University of Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, where he completed the Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree under the guidance of Prof. Max Cooke OAM. Kevin has performed a wide range of piano concertos since the age of 12, and he performs annually with the Jakarta Simfonia Orchestra. A semi-finalist in the 14th Int. Ettlingen Youth Piano Competition in Germany, Kevin is also the national winner from the 2013 Australian Youth Classical Music Competition. As an artist of Schimmel Pianos Kevin has recorded three solo piano albums. Kevin won Melbourne Recital Centre’s 2016 Great Romantics Competition and is not only passionate about classical piano and concert performance, but jazz, composing, conducting and teaching.
