From The Principal... Tena koutou katoa Thursday 11th July 2013 Term 2, Week 10

What a crazy weekend! It was great to see the massive turnout at the Possum and Pig Hunt. I have talked to the children who attended - all of them enjoyed the event and most of them won prizes on the day. Their favourite events were Toss the Poss, the Killer Hill Pig Run and having a chance to pat the pony. Again a massive thanks to all those people who were involved in all aspects - parent helpers and sponsors, however a special thanks to Fee, Meredith and Angie who spent many, many extra hours making sure that this event was very successful. In my eight years of being involved with the Possum Hunt, this was the best yet. (Maybe the weather helped!). Wishing all students and parents a safe and enjoyable holiday. I look forward to seeing everyone back for a busy Term 3 (Production time!) Gary Veysi Principal

Possum and Pig Hunt 2013!

Thanks to our helpers!

The Friends of Te Ranga School would like to thank everyone who helped put this year’s hunt on. In stark contrast to last year, the weather was beautiful which always makes an event so much more enjoyable! Toss the Poss was as popular as ever, and the Killer Hill Pig Run was a crowd favourite once again!

Killer Hill Pig Run: Ladies - Ethney Barnaby 53 seconds Killer Hill Pig Run : Mens - Nick Johnson 50.9 seconds Toss the Poss: Overall Winner - Callum 21.5 metres We are still working on our final fundraising tally from the hunt. In addition to the excellent support from our sponsors, we raised $5905 from the auction, plus money that we will receive for the possum fur and takings from food sales will be added in also. We will let you know the final figure soon.

The huge level of support that we received for this event meant that the day ran smoothly with no problems – a huge thank you to each and every person who helped out before, during or following the event - it was an awesome team effort from all of you helpers - you all know who you are and we hope that we can rely on your support again next year. Also huge ups to the possum pluckers who have done a marvelous job in the days following the event.

The Friends of Te Ranga School will be having a hunt de-brief meeting soon. We welcome feedback of any sort from any source – it will help us when considering the next hunt.

Thanks to our sponsors!

The Hunt could not have gone ahead without the support of our sponsors. We would like to thank the following
