My current focus is to use the Digital medium:

To transition Museum-based science into Information-based science.

Targeted Audiences - Citizen Science and Biosecurity.

My “Dream Scenario” is to tell you about thecornerstones of my approach

using a series of quotes and images.

Computers are bicycles for our mind. Steve Jobs, 1990

Science is the practice of reductionism – breaking things down to simple ideas to explain the complex.

Indeed, humans are hard-wired for reductionism!

Imagine walking into a supermarket with everything disorganised.

Where do you live?

The practitioners of Science are forever trying to undress nature while our artistic impulse is to be wrapped in it.

While these two approaches are probably diametrically opposite, they inform related strands of thinking in ways that promote

energy and vision.

It is this energy and vision that pushes us ahead.

The greater part of human aspiration has been informed by individual intuitions and passions more so than it hasthrough logic and pre-determined scientific endeavor.

Learn to Discover or Discover to Learn

The traditional method to “do” science was to

“Learn BEFORE you were ALLOWED to Discover”.

Nowadays, many people want to

“Discover to Learn”.

We need to facilitate that pathway.

New knowledge is not science until it is made social.

The internet has provided a myrad of ways

to make Science Social.

It is a great way to join Science and Art:

The practitioners of Science are forever trying to undress nature while our artistic impulse is to be wrapped in it.

I can forward pictures if you can give me an email address to send them to. Should I capture it?

Fortunately, it was a native Australian beetle with similar markings!
