This project is a series of different kinds of drawings done of the same mechanical object during my fall quarter of sophomore year in Design Drawing. It has forced me to look closely at the object and learn as much as I can about it. The different techniques done to create each of the drawing gives each one its own style, but they are all still unified based on their form and composition.

project oneProject one of the set is a free handed analytical line drawing. This drawing was the base for the rest of my set, and was very important to measure the different parts in relation to one alother.

project twoProject two of the series is a more mechanically drawn drawing. It was created in Adobe illustrator and throughout a series of studies done for line weight and structure, the final product was created.

project threeProject three of the set is more ofan exact representation of the mechanical object itself. The rendering shows demension and light and also portrays its materiality as well. Project three was done on toned paper with black and white colored pencils.

project fourProject four of the entire set is based off of all of the three previous projects. It’s a graphic representation of the form of the object. No lines were used, just shapes of either black or white. This too was created in Adobe Illustrator.
