Tartuffe is a religious hypocrite who capitalizes on the piety of others to line his own pocket. He convinces the wealthy Orgon to hand over his daughter in exchange for divine absolution even as Tartuffe attempts to satisfy his rogue’s lust for Orgon's wife. Caught most desperately in the middle of the charlatan’s scheming is the desirable but dutiful wife, Elmire, whose comic booty trap is a legend of theatrical comedy.

This hilarious farce comes from comedy master Ken Ludwig. Two British actors are so down on their luck they are stranded in the States performing in Moose Halls and Elks Lodges. One of classical music’s enduring riddles is why Beethoven devoted four years of his diminishing life (and hearing) writing 33 variations of a rather uninspired waltz. Two hundred years later, a modern-day music scholar is driven to solve the mystery even as her own health and relationship with her daughter crumbles. Moises Kaufman (The Laramie Project) wrote this passionate play that simultaneously explores the composer’s creations and the struggle of the musicologist. THEATRE INFORMATION• Seats are assigned according to the date orders are received at the box office. We do our best to accommodate seating requests. You must specify in advance if you need handicapped seating – limited wheelchair accomodations available.• Current subscribers must renew by August 15, 2019 to receive priority seating. New subscriber orders will be filled after August 16.• Single tickets for all shows will be on sale August 19, 2019 and orders will be filled at that time in the order they are received.• Please note that tickets are NOT refundable. Sales are FINAL.• Exchanges are allowed only for subscribers, and only for the same show.
