The statue of The Little Mermaid The statue of The Little Mermaid sits on a

rock in the harbour of the capital of Denmark. Based on a fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen, the small and unimposing statue is a Copenhagen icon and a major tourist attraction.

The Little Mermaid, is the story of a young mermaid who fell in love with a prince who lived on the land, and often came up to the edge of the water to look for her love.
