2. An unofficial transcript of all school credits / grades. You only need to order 1 transcript for THISapplication, even if you are applying for multiple KHS Athletic scholarships.

3. Two letters of recommendation from non-family, responsible community, church or school professionals.

4. A one-page, typed statement stating your goals, reasons why you desire this scholarship award and areworthy to be a recipient. (Some are specific to topic).

5. Attach a current photo.

Scholarships will be awarded to Katy High School graduates who meet and progress within the terms and conditions of the scholarship awards.

Rodger Beck Memorial Scholarship

The Rodger Beck Memorial Scholarship was established on March 21, 1995 in memory of his useful, busy and dedicated life to education, young people, community and to all humankind. Mr. Beck enjoyed helping students develop self-esteem, making career choices, and instilling a winning spirit. Mr. Beck was an educator in the Katy Independent School District for 30 years and a counselor at Katy Junior High for 19 years. Mr. Beck was a role model who touched the lives of many students, school personnel, and the entire community. This scholarship will be awarded to a Katy High School graduate who meets and progresses within the terms and conditions of the scholarship award.

A. The applicant must:

1. Have completed three years at Katy Junior High and four years at Katy High School.2. Have successfully completed three or more years of Katy High School Athletics.3. Have at least an academic average of "C".4. Have a strong moral character.5. Be involved in school and community service.6. Show financial need.

B. The applicants are required to submit the following items to the Counselor's Office:

1. The scholarship award application properly filled out.2. An unofficial transcript of all school credits.3. Two letters of recommendation from non-family, responsible community, church or school professionals.4. A statement of not more than two pages (in your handwriting) stating reasons why you desire this scholarship award and

are worthy to be a recipient.5. Please print or write legibly.6. Attach a current photo.

Ellen Beck Memorial Scholarship

The Ellen Beck Memorial Scholarship was established on January 17, 2009 in memory of her many years of service to the Katy High School women's athletic department. She was dedicated to teaching character and courage to female athletes both on and off the playing field. Mrs. Beck was a coach and Athletic Director in KISD over the course of 30 years. As a coach, she instilled the importance of representing Katy High School with class and honor as well as displaying grace both in victory and defeat. This scholarship will be awarded to a Katy High School female graduate who meets and progresses within the terms and conditions of the scholarship award.

THE APPLICANT MUST: 1. Must be a female athlete Katy High School student.2. Have completed four years at Katy High School.3. Have successfully competed in any varsity sport at Katy High School.4. Have at least an academic average of "B".

John Beauchamp Athletic Memorial Scholarship

The Coach John Beauchamp Athletic Memorial Scholarship was established in March, 1997, in memory of his commitment and dedication to education, young people, the community and his faith. Coach Beauchamp was an outstanding coach and teacher at Katy High School, and he will long be remembered for his leadership and the impact he had on fellow faculty members and students.

This scholarship will be awarded to a Katy High School graduate who meets and progresses within the terms and conditions of the scholarship award.

THE APPLICANT MUST: 1. Have a strong moral character2. Completed junior & senior years at KHS3. Participated in KHS athletic program4. Have a "C" average or better

Jack Rhoads Memorial Scholarship

The Jack Rhoads Memorial Scholarship was established on April 13, 2000 in memory of a steward of education through athletics and a loyal employee of the Katy Independent School District. Coach Rhoads enjoyed helping student athletes achieve positive results and accomplish their goals. Jack Rhoads was an Educator/Athletic Director at KISD for 27 years. Coach Rhoads influenced the lives of many coaches, students and friends with his high standard towards excellence.


THE APPLICANT MUST: 1. Have successfully completed four years of athletics at Katy High School.2. Have a four-year academic average of a "8" or better and otherwise indicate the potential to perform satisfactorily at the

college level.a. He/she must not have been involved in any in-school detention throughout high school for misbehavior

(excluding lunch detentions or after school detentions).b. He/she must have been actively involved in service toward their school and the Katy community.
