Kathy Lewis is an educator who has a heart for teaching and learning.She holds a B.A (English and Criminology), BEd (English and Law) from York University, and Additional Qualifications (English Specialistand Leadership Specialist). She is currently completing her MEd in Social Justice Education at OISE. She is also the co-founder oco-founder of Revealing Magazine which showcases Black excellence in all its forms and capacities, the first Black magazine available in the Android and Apple store. She has been teaching for over 10 years with the Toronto District School Board. She is the Curriculum Leader for Equity, Student Engagement and Achievement at Scarborough Center for Alternative Studies. Driven by the urgent need for African history to be embedded in the curriculum, she has co-planned with educators, administrators, professionals, community partners/leaders and advocates, designing and implementing classroom lessons and pprofessional development workshops, in support of Black student empowerment, leadership and achievement.
