Summary Findings

• The websites researched focus on technology tools for a K-3 age group.

• Their focus is to improve teaching and student achievement by promoting and increasing the use of technology in the classroom.

• The categories that allow resources to be chosen from are, planning and evaluation, professional development, integrating technology, teaching and learning, technology highlights, special topics and by age classification.

• Storyline Online is provided by the Screen Actors Guild Foundation. The website streams online video of actors reading stories, the stories include activities and lesson plans.

• It is free to link to the stories and with the appropriate technology this website could be very entertaining and useful to young students.

• K-3 Learning Pages is a website that offers resources for Kindergarten through grade 3 teachers.

• This site promotes technology use and its importance and shares examples from other teachers.

• Links are provided to key values such as, projects, software, internet sites, classroom resources, multimedia, communication, portfolios, learning extensions and many others.

• This is a website provided by the Francis Scott Key Technology Magnet School located in Baltimore, Maryland which has a major focus on the importance of technology in the classroom.

• The school is noted for its extensive use of technology.

• Provides links to helpful tools and resource sites for teachers.

Conclusions

• The five websites I have included in this paper are both helpful and useful to a teacher focusing on technology tools in the kindergarten through third grade level.

• The websites provide this focus group of teachers with some ideas for curriculum and lesson plans, so that technology may be integrated into their classroom.

• I hope that many new teachers and seasoned teachers use the websites recommended, as well as the many other sites available to them, to assist in using technology as a tool in the classroom.
