Juventud y Cultura is a student exchange organization founded in Madrid, Spain in 1974. We are pleased to offer all kinds of outbound and inbound language courses in Spain and abroad. Juventud y Cultura is dedicated mostly to youth programs, although we also offer outstanding language study opportunities for adults worldwide. Juventud y Cultura began by sending Spanish students to Ireland and then opened other programs in the United Kindgdom, France, Germany, USA, Canada and most recently in Australia, New Zealand, and Malta. We have been working in the study abroad industry for over 40 years and work with trusted contacts all over the world.

Spain Summer Camp is a specially designed program directed at providing an exchange of cultural experiences, and customs. The goal is to provide students with a stimulating environment, where students of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds come together to share their cultures and interests. The dynamic, diverse, group setting fosters an environment of mutual support and camaraderie. Students learn together and from each other as they explore new and exciting challenges. All activities, excursions, and foreign language instruction are aimed at enriching students by exposing them to an exciting combination of art, culture, sports, and leisure.

The Historic-Cultural town of San Lorenzo de El Escorial is nestled in the heart of the Guadarrama mountain range, about thirty miles from Madrid. The town has a population of about 50,000 people, and is located three thousand feet above sea level. It is a haven for “Madrileños” who seek to escape the summer heat of the city, in favor of the tranquility and refreshing climate that San Lorenzo de El Escorial offers.

The Monastery of El Escorial was constructed by the Spanish Emperor Philip II in the 16th century. This monument is internationally known as the “Eighth Wonder of the World” and is visited annually by more than two million tourists. UNESCO has declared the Monastery a World Heritage Site.

Our students live and study in the Real Colegio Alfonso XII, a school located inside the Monastery. They are lucky to live here: it is a Royal Palace, holds the Pantheon of Kings, a Royal Library, an elaborate Basilica, and many rooms full of historically significant art, sculptures, and paintings.

Students will enjoy full room and board at the Real Colegio Alfonso XII, one of the most prestigious boarding schools in Spain. This historical building has completely renovated facilities including dormitories, classrooms, audiovisual rooms, and a royally decorated theatre.

Students will take a Magic Course taught by professional magicians and a fencing Course from members of the Spanish National Fencing Team.

In “El Bosquecillo” – the school’s sports facilities– the students have the opportunity to practice all kinds of sports: Swimming, Tennis, Basketball, Handball, Soccer, and more.

Students from many different countries participate in all activities offered throughout the course. The cultural exchange among different nationalities is an enriching aspect of the program.

Full-day excursions are planned every week to places of interest such as: the Water Park, Amusement Park, or the Multi Adventure Park. There will be one half day trip to Madrid City.

Students will receive 15 hours of Spanish language instruction each week, Monday through Friday, taught by experienced teachers. Following a language placement test, students will be grouped into classes of 10-12 students. Upon completion of the program, every student will receive a progress report and diploma.

* Health and accident Insurance is compulsory for all students attending the camp. You may send a copy of the student’s insurance card/insurance policy to Juventud y Cultura prior to arrival or we can arrange an insurance policy by request.
