THE PORK STORE

This breakfast and lunch spot is popular with locals and tourists alike. They’ve been serving hearty breakfast food for nearly 40 years. Be prepared for a short wait in line — this place can get really busy on weekends! And always order a side of house-made biscuits.

AMOEBA MUSIC

Amoeba is a former bowling alley housing an incredible collection of records, CDs, tapes, movies, and musical memorabilia. You can spend hours browsing through the 24,000 square feet of music and sometimes even catch a free show!

ALEMBIC

A distant cousin to the Magnolia Brewery at the other end of Haight Street, this craft cocktail bar has been serving amazingly creative drinks and food for ten years. It has recently expanded to include an event space and more seating. Be sure to try the Corpse Reviver #2!

DECADES OF FASHION

Somewhere between a vintage clothing store and a fashion museum, Decades of Fashion has been stocking and selling clothes from the 1920s on for 11 years. Even if you aren’t looking to buy, there is always something amazing to check out or try on.

CLIMB LOVESHere are a few of our favorite things that we know you would enjoy.

EAT

THE AXIOM is a boutique hotel occupying the old Turpin Hotel near Union Square. A marriage of San Francisco history with the style of the nacent startup scene, this hotel juxtaposes older features with technological flourishes like shifting digital portraits. The rooms are simple and stylish with plenty of luxury features. It has an in-house cafe that specializes in local ingredients and recipes.

SLEEP

OSAKA is the culinary captiol of Japan, a holdover from when it was a mercantile center. Dotonbori is the primary night life and restaurant district, offering a massive range of food from Kobe beef to kushikatsu and takoyaki. For those craving high-end dining, Fujiuya 1935 boasts three Michelin stars and is considered one of the best restaurants in the world.

ESCAPE

SHANGHAI DUMPLING KING is a longtime destination for dumpling lovers. Their menu boasts a huge range of dumpling styles, buns, and wontons along with noodles and other Chinese fare. We highly reccomend the spicy chive and pork dumplings and the green onion pancakes. Go with a group so you can try lots of different dishes!

VANTAGE MAGAZINE / 19

ME BEFORE YOU is a story about a young woman charged with the care of an quadriplegic man. Opposites in almost every way, their close proximity results in a complex relationship that drives them to confront their inner demons. Reading along as the two characters force each other to reexamine their lives is as exhilirating as it is heartwrenching.

READ

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is the third installment of the Captain America franchise, and is an exciting movie with plenty to offer anyone who’s enjoyed the latest string of Marvel films. The film manages to balance a huge number of characters without letting up momentum or getting bogged down in subplots. It’s a fun film, even if you aren’t a superhero movie fan.

WATCH

RICOH THETA S DIGITAL CAMERA is our newest toy, a 360-degree camera that offers both photo and video along with handy apps for editing. Startlingly easy to use, this camera can take incredibly detailed shots and is a must-have for anyone interested in virtual reality or 360-degree photography.
