1:30 pm – 4:00 pm For Tasters – Wine Tasting and Tour at Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars (departs hotel at 1:30 pm)

Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, notably known for being the winery that won the Cabernet Sauvignon competition in the 1976 Judgment of Paris, was founded in 1970 and is considered a Napa Valley first-growth estate. Their goal is to create wines of classic beauty — wines with balance, complexity and harmony and their signature style has often been described as “an iron fist in a velvet glove,” a reference to the artful balance between ripeness and restraint, softness and struc-ture, that yields Napa Valley wines of exceptional beauty and long life. The heart of Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars is undoubtedly the estate vineyards, and extraor-dinary care is taken to assure that a wine’s aroma, flavor, and texture express a sense of place. This care is manifested in the winery’s sustainable farming practic-es. For more information about Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, visit www.cask23.com. When you sign-up for this event, participate in a tour of the Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars estate and taste acclaimed wines from their Estate Collection. Cost Per Person: (including roundtrip transportation, the tour and tasting fees) is $155. This activity can accommodate a maximum of 16 guests.

1:30 pm – 4:00 pm For Tasters – Wine Tasting and Tour at Opus One (departs hotel at 1:30 pm)

Opus One is a joint venture between Robert Mondavi and Baroness Philippine de Rothschild producing a proprietary Bordeaux-style blend. Looking out across Opus One’s vineyards, one immediately senses Opus One is different. Cultivat-ed with passion and a singular vision, the four meticulously hedged vineyards comprising the winery’s 169 acres bear a unique signature in the Napa Valley. There is continuity in the way the vines are planted, tended, and harvested that imbues each vintage with unwavering quality. At Opus One, traditional approaches are taken wherever they work best. And, when modern techniques benefit the winegrowing process, they are researched, evaluated and integrated into practice. For instance, the vines are planted five to six times more densely than is typical in California. At higher densities, the vines produce smaller ber-ries with higher skin-to-juice ratios and more intense flavors and aromas. Partici-pate in a tour of the Opus One winery as well as a tasting. For more information about Opus One, visit www.opusonewinery.com. Cost Per Person: (including roundtrip transportation, the tour and tasting fees) is $200. This event can accommodate a maximum of 16 guests.

Caymus Cabernets offer a wide array of aromas and flavors including cocoa, cassis and vanilla. Caymus Special Selection is the flagship wine of the Wagner family and is comprised of the very best barrels of the vintage. Caymus Napa Valley is more representative of a standard Cabernet of Napa Valley, as it is a bit less preco-cious than the Special Selection, but still delivers big. Caymus prides itself on producing wines that are as approachable in youth as well at maturity. Both the “Napa Valley” and “Special Selection” Cabernets are produced under the wine-making hand of Chuck Wagner. For more information, visit www.caymus.com. On the western Sonoma Coast, their Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays are part of the movement bringing recognition and acclaim to this cool climate growing region. But it is Insignia, their flagship iconic wine and California’s first proprietary red Bordeaux-style blend, which has earned Joseph Phelps its longstanding reputa-tion for excellence.
