As part of the 15th annual worldwide Summer Sailstice, the Fort Peck Lake Sailing Club joined sailors around the world this past Saturday with a sailing event as part of this global celebration of sailing. The Fort Peck Lake Sailing Clubs Summer Sailstice was headquartered

at the Fort Peck Marina. This international event was founded in 2001 to connect the global sailing community in a fun, creative, multifaceted, multi-location sailing celebration. Every year, Summer Sailstice connects more than 19,000 sailors all over the

world to celebrate and showcase life under sail. The event has expanded to include participants from Asia, across the Americas and Europe. This year saw yet another record-breaking turnout as even

First-time sailors of all ages enjoyed free rides during the 15th Annual Summer Sailstice. This marks the

first time the Summer Sailstice was held on Fort Peck Reservoir, and it was a big hit for all who participated.

The 21st Annual Longest Dam Race, sponsored by the Glasgow Area Chamber of Culture & Agriculture, was held on Saturday, June 20th at Fort Peck Dam. A beautiful green, sun-filled morning at Kiwanis Park was the atmosphere for a record breaking 443 individuals who participated in the five events. The youngest participants were three year olds and the oldest was 84. All 21 participants from the Milk River Activity completed the one mile walk. The 443 participants represented 11 states including Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Idaho, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, Washington, and Wyoming, and one Canadian province, that being Saskatchewan. 195 of the 443 (44%) were from Glasgow and the surrounding area. The races offered something for everyone. The race began with the 10k run across the Dam and ended with the one mile walk/run on the Nature Trail at Kiwanis Park. A record breaking 46 runners participated in the 10k. Twenty five individuals participated in the 10 mile bike route on Hwy #117. The number of race participants were up from 412 in 2014 to 443 for this year (7.5% increase!). Prizes provided by Big Valley Water and medals were given to the top two finishers in each age group and overall race prizes in each category. The races were assisted by FMDH EMTs, McCone & Valley County Sheriff s, the Montana Highway Patrol, Rock Solid Youth/Assembly of God Church, Glasgow Recreation Department, MDT, and dozens of volunteers. The 2015 Longest Dam Race T-shirt was designed by Allison Neumiller of Glasgow. The first 75 entries received a free ticket for the Saturday June 20th performance of One Man Two Guvnors at the Fort Peck Summer Theatre. The 2016 Longest Dam Race will be held Saturday June 18th, 2016.

Now that President Obama has 19 months left, media outlets are speculating about what his legacy will be. Some think it could be healthcare, or the trade deal. Yeah, what could it be? said the first black president, Barack Obama. ~ Jimmy FallonYesterday on Fathers Day my kids gave me breakfast in bed, which I thought was sweet. My nine-year-old makes a mean mojito. Brought me a cigarette too. Rolled it himself. ~ Conan OBrien

I hope everyone who deserved it had a good Fathers Day. Kids will buy cards and T-shirts and even little trophies that say their father is the best dad in the world. But the fact of the matter is that simple math tells us the vast majority of these kids are lying. ~ Jimmy Kimmel

CFL season starts Thursday The Canadian Football Leagues season is set to open tomorrow night. Weve got quite a few Saskatchewan Roughrider fans in our area as doing passports and asking the question, Doing anything fun? has garnered several responses, Gotta be ready to go see the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Regina. Shucks, a couple of them even said theyre headed north to the west to watch the Calgary Stampeders. So for those in the area whove got that Rider Pride or just CFL fans in general, watch for the CFL Review in Thursdays Buzz.

It was a scorching hot day when I accidentally overturned my golf buggy. This very attractive and keen golfer, who lives in a villa by the golf course, heard the noise and called out, Are you okay? Yeah, Im Okay, I replied. And she says, Forget your troubles. Come to my villa, rest a while, and Ill help you get the cart up later. Thats mighty nice of you, I answered, but I dont think my wife would like it. Oh, come on, she insisted. She was very pretty, very sexy and persuasive... and I was weak. Well okay, I finally agreed, and added, but my wife wont like it. After a restorative cold beer, and some creative putting lessons, I thanked my host. I feel a lot better now, but I know my wife is going to be really upset. Dont be silly, she says, she wont know anything. By the way, where is she? So I told her, Under the cart!

Yes, its looking as though the Cup shall be full to the brim: the 28th Annual Montana Governors Cup Walleye Tournament slated for July 9th, 10th & 11th, that is. As of this morning there are now 187 teams registered, just another 13 to go! Final payouts will be distributed to the top 20% of the field, meaning you can take 40th place and still cash a check on a full 200-team field. A total of $60,000 (100% of the entry fee money) will be paid out with the first place team taking home a check for $15,000, and the 40th place team will get their entry fee back. Optional Day Money will be paid 100% on a sliding scale based on participants. There are also the big fish pots available (largest walleyes, largest northerns). All told, approximately $100,000 will be swapping hands at Saturday afternoons weigh-ins held beneath the shady trees of Kiwanis Park. The Glasgow Chamber is in need of volunteers for July 9th 11th. They need people for all aspects of this event. If you are interested in lending a hand please call the Chamber Office at 228-2222, as soon possible so they have time to get all tasks/jobs filled. Last year Sidneys Jesse and Monica Reuter won with 44.05 pounds (30.55 pounds day 1). With an extra 61 teams competing (based on a 200 team field), anglers will have even more pressure to put two exceptional days of fishing together if they want to be holding that $15,000 check to conclude the 28th Annual Montana Governors Cup Walleye Tournament. Whos it gonna be....

Now at 187 and counting! How does $15,000 sound?
