KLS IMER con�nued the legacy to conduct its flagship

event “Founda�on Day” on September 16, 2019. As per

the tradi�on of the Ins�tute, Mr. Keith Machado, Joint

Managing Director, Orione Hydraulics Pvt Ltd., a

successful entrepreneur from Belagavi, was felicitated

with the ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ Award for 2019.

Founda�on day is an event to show tribute to the

patronage of Late Shri. Raosaheb B.M Gogte.

Gogte Lecture Series talk 2019 was organized as

part of ‘Founda�on Day’ 2019. Chief guest, Mr. Niket

Karajagi, Founder Director of Atyaasaa Consul�ng

Private Limited, Pune spoke on “Disrup�ons and

Downturns: Mee�ng Twin Challenges for SMEs and

MSMEs”. He emphasized on the con�nuously changing

scenarios in technology and business by emphasizing on

importance of living in a “VUCA” (Vola�le, Uncertain,

Complex, Ambiguous) world and cri�cal success factors

being, Knowledge is Power, Cash is King, Authen�city of

Businesses, Technology is Scalability, Design Thinking

and Neo classical model. He suggested SMEs and MSMEs

to look into the changing needs of the customer and

market as an opportunity

Two Days’ Execu�ve Development Programme (EDP) on “Family Business Dynamics & Growth” was organized by renowned family business advisors & faculty from ISB, Hyderabad. This ini�a�ve by KLS IMER was carried out to create an awareness amongst family business owners in Belagavi to understand the dynamics and key challenges in today's family-run businesses. A workshop on revision of syllabus for MBA 1st and

2nd semester of Rani Channamma University,

Belagavi was held at KLS IMER for framing the new

syllabus for academic year 2019-20. Faculty from

Two Days’ Training Program on 'Digital Marketing'

KLS Ins�tute of Management Educa�on & Research organized a seminar on applica�on of TQM in industry for the students and faculty m e m b e r s . T h e s e m i n a r h a d t h r e e dis�nguished speakers. Mr. Jaydeep Lengade, Consultant, Aditya Consultancy spoke on Lean Prac�ces in the industry. Mr. Surya, Consultant, MNM Enterprises spoke on Six-Sigma. Mr. Ni�sh Sunthankar, registered Consultant and auditor, Quality Council of India spoke on the topic “ISO standards and its implementa�on”. Mr. Nagaraj Kulkarni, Head, World Class Manufactur ing , HINDALCO, Belagav i , inaugurated the seminar and delivered the key-note address. In his address, he presented various live examples of applica�on in TQM at HINDALCO, Belagavi. The seminar was followed by Poster design compe��on on Crea�ve Problem Solving by using QC tools.

KLS IMER, in collabora�on with Makeintern and IIM-Indore, organized two-days’ training program on 'Digital Marke�ng' for second semester MBA students. As part of IIM Indore's 'Interna�onal B-Plan Championship -2019', Makeintern & IIM Indore selected 30 summer campus training centers across India and KLS IMER was one among them. Managements students of KLS IMER had the opportunity of having hands-on-experience on EBSCO database which is a leading provider of research databases, e-journals, magazine subscrip�ons, e-books and discovery service for academic libraries. Training was provided by Mr. M S Srinivasa, Training manager, EBSCO, Informa�on Services, New Delhi. Session was extremely valuable to our students who learnt the importance of usage of E-resources and various tools available on EBSCO pla�orm.

The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development of organized a workshop on “Iden�fica�on of Business opportuni�es & Prepara�on of Business Plan” on 10th May 2019 for the students who enrolled for One year Open Learning Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Business Management (DEBM) in collabora�on with Entrepreneurship Development Ins�tute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad. Mr. Yashaswi Nag, a resource person of the workshop spoke on the topic design thinking and its applica�on for genera�ng business ideas. He also discussed about prepara�on of Detailed Project Report (DPR), according to SIDBI guidelines in order to raise the investments for projects from financial ins�tu�ons and investors. Students developed a number of business opportuni�es and prepared a dra� of the Detailed Project Report as outcome of the workshop.

An Expert Commi�ee cons�tuted by the UGC for gran�ng

of an Autonomy consisted of the 5 Members from

esteemed posi�ons in academia visited the Ins�tute on

21st and 22nd November, 2019. They looked at all the

facili�es (for the conduct of curricular, co-curricular and

extracurricular ac�vi�es); and visited support services

like Hostel, Cafeteria, Gymnasium, Sports, Parking,

Recrea�onal, Roo�op solar, Incuba�on center etc of the

Ins�tu�on. It was followed by interac�on with all the

stake holders i.e., Students, Alumni, Staff and

Management. The team inspected all the relevant

records and gave valuable feedback and sugges�ons.

Industrial Visit to Export Oriented Unit (EOU)

23th Januar y, 2020

Students visited Export Oriented Unit at Dana Fairfield Atlas Ltd, Shinoli to understand the export procedure and its documenta�on. Students were mainly benefited from detailed understanding of export procedure and export documenta�on carried out at Dana through their Export Oriented Unit (EOU). Mr. Nikhil Pa�l, HR Manager-Strategy, enlightened the students on overview of the firm and its various processes. .

KLS IMER organized a Na�onal Level Industry Tour to

Kerala where students visited Kitex Limited,

Kizhakkambalam that manufactures school bags,

travel bags, and umbrellas. Tour also included visit

to spice garden to see a variety of spices and

medicinal plants accompanied by tour guide who

explained the history and importance of spices and

herbs while walking through the planta�on.

Students enjoyed their visit to Lulu mall which is one

of the largest malls in Asia.

A Unique Visit to

Traffic Management & Enforcement Centre, Belagavi

6th Januar y, 2020

Students visited South Traffic Police Sta�on, Camp, Belagavi to have an understanding on working of traffic management system and be socially aware about changes in traffic rules, working system and its effec�ve implementa�on. Students had the opportunity to witness live demonstra�on of traffic surveillance through 120 cameras spread across en�re Belagavi City.

Dr. Pallab Bandyopadhyay, a Leadership Architect, Career Coach, Change and Transi�on Specialist and a doctoral fellow in HRD from XLRI, Jamshedpur spoke on “What the Industry expects from Management Graduates today”. The session was enriched with loads of relevant data from world reports with mind boggling facts and figures. He also stated that irrespec�ve of what we aspire, one should embrace the art to learn, unlearn and relearn and above all the paramount skill that one should strive to achieve is the ‘so� skill’

Unilever delivered a talk on the topic “Industry

Expecta�ons from MBA Students”. He narrated

students of the importance to keep adding value to

oneself and to the organiza�on by means of constant

learning, unlearning and relearning. He expressed that

the appe�te towards applica�on of knowledge than

merely having conceptual understanding has become ‘a

must to survive’ in the industry. Above all, its about

Swami Mu�danandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha of the Mysore Ramakrishna Ashrama delivered a guest lecture �tled “The Spiritual Side of management”. Addressing the MBA students Swamiji said that “Spirituality also involves a sense of the inter connectedness of all things and an ability to transcend the ordinary and to see the sacred in everyday life. Spirituality can be reflected in the feelings of peace, awe, calm, and connectedness, and it is a source of inexhaus�ble faith and will power.

A guest lecture by Late Professor B. R. Ananthan, founder Vice Chancellor of Rani Channamma University was arranged at KLS IMER on 17th of October, 2019. He interacted with MBA students on a topic “Managerial trend in past, present and future”. He spoke about the Paradigm shi� in business that is going to happen in future and the corporate would incline toward using machine learning technology and ar�ficial intelligence in a larger scale. The session was very interac�ve.

Antaraprerana - 2019 :- Business Plan Competition

Antaraprerana 2019 is a flagship, in-house annual Business Plan compe��on jointly organized by the KLSIMER, Belagavi and Entrepreneurship Development Ins�tute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Sujit Hukkerikar, founder, ADIS technologies, housed in incuba�on centre of Sand Box startups at KLS IMER, Belagavi. Mr. Amrut Pa�l from Sand Box startups, Hubli was the guest of honour. He asked the students to prepare feasible business plans which could be implemented with the support of the incuba�on centre set up at the ins�tute by Sand Box startup of Deshpande founda�on.

Ins�tute conducted one week crash course students who

wished to appear for Post Graduate Common Entrance

Test (PGCET) and Karnataka Management Ap�tude Test

(K-MAT) 2019. Over 200 students across Belagavi district

registered for the course and were highly benefited from

the sessions delivered on Reasoning, Ap�tude, Verbal

and General Knowledge. The course was supplemented

with use of learning resources of IMER, including the

library, computer lab, internet, as well as mentoring by

the senior faculty of the Ins�tute.

KLS IMER organized an innova�ve management fest for undergraduate students with the theme “Unity in Diversity”.

Various colleges across Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra registered for the event. The event had many interes�ng

compe��ons, namely Samaarambh (Ice breaker), Sampoorna (Best Manager), Samavi�a (Finance),

Samagyan(Quiz), Samatantra (HR), Samshodh (Treasure Hunt), Samavismaya (Surprise), Samskruthi (cultural

extravaganza), and Samachitra (Social Media).

Mrs. Shravani Pawar, na�onal award winner for entrepreneurship, Founder and CEO of SafeHands , 24X7 ,

Hubli was the Chief Guest for the inaugural func�on. Shri. R.S. Mutalikdesai , Chairman , GC, KLS IMER declared

Samagam 2020 open. KLE CBALC, Belagavi, won the General Championship. Ms. Khushi Mehta from KLE CBALC won

Blood Donation Camp

7th December, 2019

KLS IMER, in associa�on with HDFC and KLE’S Blood

Bank, Belagavi, had organized a Blood Dona�on Camp.

Dr. Ramesh Chavan, Professor and Head, Dept. of

Pathology, JNMC Belagavi delivered the mo�va�onal

talk and encouraged the students to donate blood to

support the noble cause and to save lives. In total 85

donors donated blood on this occasion.

3rd December, 2020

KLS IMER students and faculty members par�cipated in Candle March to observe “Interna�onal Day of Persons with Disabili�es” organized by Ankur School for Special Children and other Social Founda�ons, working for similar cause. innova�ve agri-tech start-up bagged 1st prize for solving the

problem statement of Animal Breeding Program.

As part of Ins�tute's Social Responsibility(ISR) ac�vity, KLS IMER conducts IT Literacy Camp every year to educate students of Rural Government Schools on usage of Computers and Basic Computer applica�ons like MS- Word, WordPad, Paint, Cyber Security etc. IT team with 21 students visited rural places like Uchagaon & Kallehol and interacted with the rural students and staff and trained them on basic applica�ons of computers. Around 300 students and 10 staff were benefi�ed from this event.

Experiential Learning Workshop for KLS IMER students

A three-day experien�al learning workshop was organised for the students of semester I of KLS IMER at Shoonya Resorts,

Belgundi Village. These workshops are of very high energy off-site training programs for enhancing individual and team

performance. The workshop started with an icebreaker, rat race, the leader game, communica�on crossover, master chef,

human ladder and strategy. It aimed at improving skills in the areas of teamwork, team bonding, communica�on,

leadership, �me management, problem solving, decision making, mo�va�on, change and personal development.
