By the time this news-letter goes to press we will have over five

hundred members, many by word of mouth. We are delighted that the All Inclu-sive Motorhome Club has been so well accepted by the motorhome community. The Island Time Gala just ended and a great time was had by all. The weather was absolutely superb, clear skies every day with cool mornings and warm after-noons. The boat trip to Savannah was excellent, we saw a shark feeding on, what I assume was a school of fish, and then had a dolphin playing at the bow of the boat. It was great fun watching it swim under and then return to the starboard side of the boat. Won’t go into any more detail as there are a few reports on the event else where in the news letter. We have three more Gala’s planned and a region-al rally planned for 2018. Check out the AIM web page for the events schedule, www.aimclub.org. As AIM grows we need more volunteers to help make this club great! A few of the spots available are someone to help with the web page, someone to help with the newsletter and regional rally masters. There is a lot of other work that needs to be done. If you are interested in helping out this volunteer club please let me know. Hope to see you at one of the 2018 events. Safe travels.

Perhaps not everyone is aware, but there is a Facebook page, All Inclusive Motorhome Club - AIM (https://www.facebook.com/theaimclub/).

This particular location will be utilized as a way of let-ting other like-minded people who have a Class A, B or C type rig know about our club. We would like to invite members of the AIM club to share pictures, stories, fa-vorite camping recipes, as well as helpful hints and tips for RVing. If you know of anyone who may be interested in joining our group, please feel free to have them go to the All Inclusive Motorhome Club - AIM or to the web site at www.aimclub.org. There is also a Closed Group available for the AIM club members. The name of this group is AIM Members Group. The Closed Group is ideal if you want to meet up on the road with other AIM members, ask questions and share information related to RVing or you just want a secure platform to talk with friends. Should you wish to become a member of the Closed Group search on AIM Members Group and click Join Group below the cover photo. A group admin will verify your AIM membership and then approve your request. We look forward to hearing from you and hope you check us out on Facebook. The club events will be up-dated as to when they are open for registration, as well as when registration has closed. Once registration has closed, or a rally is full, a wait list will be started. The opening of registration for events, for now, will be about six (6) months prior to the event dates. Registration for these fantastic events takes place on the website www.aimclub.org. So, mark your calendars and plan on at-tending some wonderful outings with other AIM mem-bers and make new friends or connect with familiar ones. We all hope to see you there. Your participation is what makes the club great and will help it grow.

Spice Up Your One PotBy: Medarda Bauer, AIM Secretary

Loving to cook, I enjoy adding a bit of spice to my go to dishes. This is especially true of those made with my “One Pot”. Following are several recipes I have adapted for ease of cooking in the motorhome

which provide at least two meals for two.

our SkyMed Member Survivors can testify, offers the caller much needed reassurance that their call will never go unan-swered. Once the nature of the emergency and the situation is clarified, the team goes into action, contacting the attend-ing physician to determine what type of evacuation the pa-tient needs and where the patient needs to go: whether to their hospital of choice (home or otherwise) or, simply, back home. Transportation back varies depending on the situa-tion: it can be via commercial flight with or without escort, or by medically equipped jet. All the while, the Member Services representative is in touch with the member or the family member, keeping them informed every step of the way. Keep in mind: many evacu-ations are arranged from start to finish in a matter of hours!

What can you do? You’ve already done the right thing by calling SkyMed, but the next best way you can help is to follow that old Boy Scout motto and be prepared. What does that mean? Make sure you and those in your party always travel with copies of their medical prescriptions, passports, health/travel infor-mation and any other identifying document (including your SkyMed member card!) and know where they are and can be accessed at any givenmoment. That’s it. The rest… Is up to SkyMed. Curious about the cost to you? It’s whatever you paid for the SkyMed Membership you purchased—but, for our SkyMed Survivors, its value is “beyond pearls.”

www.skymed.com

According to the dictionary, a “medi-cal evacuation”—also known as “medevac”—is defined as the “trans-

port of persons, usually by some form of air transportation, to a place, usually the clos-est health facility, where they can receive medical care.” At SkyMed, we define “medical evacu-ation” as taking you home*—or to your hometown hospital—should a critical ill-ness or injury occur while traveling. The end goal, of course, is to save your life and/or limit the extent of your injury. When members find themselves in these situations, they’re usually far from home (although our ULTIMATE Member-ship waives the 100-mile radius require-ment—ask your rep about it!) But even though the farthest thing from your mind is an accident or illness when you’re on va-cation or visiting family members, the truth is that knowing what to do and how to react when something happens can be crucial. To that end, we’re going to take you behind the scenes at SkyMed International to lay out how the emergency medical evacuation process works, which will go a long way towards your peace of mind in case you—or your loved ones—ever need to dial that emergency number. The scene: You’re headed out to dinner with your son in a new restaurant in small town in Mexico, sweeping down the stairs when you reach for the banister and it’s not where you thought it would be. You’re taken to the local hospital, where you spend the night, realizing in the morning they’re going to have to operate on your shattered hip. Then you suddenly remember you have SkyMed (true story).

What happens then? When a member dials the emergency number on their SkyMed member card, they’re connected to a 24/7 answer-ing service that asks the caller whether it’s a medical emer-gency or if they need to speak to someone. One recom-mendation from our Member Services department: say it’s an emergency even if you’re not sure, because otherwise, you could get routed to a voicemail service—and it could potentially waste precious time. The answering service gathers as much information as possible (phone number, member ID, situation details) and relays it to the Member Services representative on-call (again, 24/7), who will have the member’s details up on-screen by the time the call is patched through. At that time, the representative gathers as much infor-mation as possible, including contact person with the mem-ber/patient, current medical situation, etc. and, as many of

Some of you know me through my volunteer involvement with FMCA as a member of FMCA’s Convention Com-mittee, Chair of the Under 60 Task Force and the EN-

ERGIZED Motorhome Chairman. We discovered AIM awhile back as it was just taking shape as a new Motorhome Only club. At that time I was asked if I would volunteer to help get this new Motorhome Only club started. As the first four AIM Galas were scheduled and planned for 2018 a few members of our ENERGIZED Motorhome Steering Committee made arrangements to attend AIM’s first ever Gala in Hilton Head SC. We wanted to see if these Galas were something our ENERGIZED group would be interested in attending. This first AIM Gala was held at Hilton Head Motorcoach Resort (April 29-May 3, 2018). This is a very nice Motorhome resort to start with, inclusive of Full 50 amp hookups, nice pool, clubhouse, etc. Add to that the fact the Galas are first class events with happy hours, a couple hot breakfasts, a few seminars on RV stuff, dinners and an awesome closing party with a live band and another dinner…all provided. It was a blast and highly recommended! AIM has recently received another sponsor for the club with Freightliner joining in the fun as a Diamond Level spon-sor of the club. So, if you are interested in a fun, first class Gala we would encourage you to check out an AIM Gala that works with your schedule…you will not be disappointed. You can check out upcoming Galas on the club’s webpage https://www.aimclub.org/ and click on the Events tab.

Coach-Net

As we travel in our motorhomes, enjoying this great country of ours and all that it has to offer, every now and then something may interrupt our living the dream

of the motorhome lifestyle. That’s where having a Coach-Netmembership comes in. A few years back we were on I77 In Virginia climbing a steep seven mile grade. When we heard a loud POP!, I watched the turbo gauge go to zero, the coach went down to first gear and we con-tinued to climb the hill at 8 MPH. Lynn called Coach-Net and asked for assistance, we told them where we would stop at Fancy Gap, VA. Coach-Net dispatched a diesel tech and we were back on the road in under one and half hours with the problem resolved. AIM has partnered with Coach-Net and anyone using the fol-lowing link will receive a discount in joining Coach-Net. We have used their service and highly recommend them to our AIM embers. Exclusive Platinum Sponsor

It is with great excitement we announce that Freightliner Customer Chassis has committed to support-ing the AIM organization as their exclusive Platinum Sponsor. Freightliner brings a wealth of resourc-es to the plate and not just from a financial aspect. They have a dedicated team of educators and

support staff that we have interacted with and are confident they will be a positive, committed organiza-tion with which to partner. In addition, Freightliner’s award-winning network of Oasis equipped service centers are the perfect match up for AIM’s membership. When owners search for a service center…if it is designated with the Oasis logo, you can be sure you will be well taken care of. The Oasis label means the service center is equipped and ready for RVers with a separate lounge/waiting area, dog park and other resources intended to make the diesel coach owner(s) feel welcomed and comfortable.

Freightliner has also redesigned and recently launched a full-ser-vice app available on both the IOS and Android platforms. This user-friendly app is full of information, service schedules, user manuals, service locations (based on your location), etc. It also has important contact information should the need arise. The app has proven to be informative, comprehensive and most of all…easy to use. When the opportunity arises, please join with AIM in welcoming Freightliner to the family!

AIM Newsletter June 2018 Page 15

After getting all our doctor’s appointments taken care of, and future ones set up, we were ready to head out in our coach. Tommy and I started off

our year at the Tampa Supershow in January. The show was huge, as always. Lazy Days provided burgers and brats and all the fixins for our group. Our guys broke out the grills and did all the cooking while we girls made sides and set it all up. A fun time was had by all. Tommy used this opportunity to pass out AIM flyers and telling everyone all about our the five great rallies that we have planned for the year. Tom and Lynn Crowley have done an awesome job in setting up these rallies and arranging them in different parts of this great United States. While in Florida we met up with Matt Crafton and went over to the dirt track races at Volusia Speedway Park and boy, was that ever wild. Mario and Ann LaCute invited us to their lovely home in Daytona Beach right on the “river”. We had a wonderful afternoon and evening with them. Next, we met up with AIM members, Charlie and Judy Owens in Brunswick, Georgia. We stayed at the Coastal Georgia RV Resort there in Brunswick. I would recom-mend this park to anyone in the area. We had a great time with Charlie and Judy. They were both raised in the area, so they really knew their way around the area. They especially knew the best restaurants in the area. After 2 days it was time to head farther north for my Quilter’s “Escape” on the Outer Banks in Corolla, North Carolina. I left Tommy on the mainland in Shawboro, North Carolina. I had a wonderful time with 40 other quil-ters for five exciting fun filled days and nights. Nobody goes to bed early when you have that many “girls” to-gether and there was no sleeping in. We are all very serious about our quilting and having fun. Back on the mainland, Tommy had a “first”. Winegard talked him into climbing on top of the coach to take pictures of the Direct TV antenna. By the way, did I say Tommy has NEVER been on top of any of our coaches and he does NOT like heights. I could not believe Winegard was able to talk him into that. The television was cutting in and out and I guess he really needed it since he was playing bachelor for the week. He said getting up there wasn’t nearly as frightening as getting down. Without his recent weight loss, he would never have been able to accomplish this task. Next stop was Top Sail Island (pronounced Topsul), North Carolina with AIM members, Emerson and Cheryl Dickey. We spent 3 fun filled days with them at their lovely beach house on the Atlantic Ocean. We toured the whole island and they really have some good restaurants there. When we arrived back at the coach which we had parked at the Wilmington KOA, we discovered AIM mem-

Off and Running — 2018 First QuarterBy: Bonnie Townsend, AIM Treasurer

bers, George and Sue Stephens were there also. We were able to spend and evening and have dinner with them before we had to continue our journey. We headed to Lawrenceville, Georgia next so we could get those Winegard parts installed. I guess they liked the pictures that Tommy sent them. Tommy found that dealing with Winegard wasn’t totally pleasant. Not only do they want your VIN, they want a copy of you Bill of Sale showing your name and the date purchased. Angie of NIRVC was happy to supply that for him. With that said, a Winegard is not listed on our bill of sale. The only document that shows that information is the “window sticker” that was on your coach originally. We all carry that with us, don’t we??? Tommy sent the Bill of Sale and they immediately responded that it did not show that we purchased a Winegard System with our coach. Tommy doesn’t handle frustration well, so he told them to forget it, he would take the coach back to NIRVC in Lawrenceville and let them take care of it. Winegard replied a few days later that they were able to cross reference the informa-tion and determine that our coach DID in fact come with the Winegard System. By that time, he had already con-tacted Woo at NIRVC and he said he would take care of it for us. Winegard sent the parts to NIRVC and now our television works like it is supposed to. Next stop was Stone Mountain for our ECOA pre-rally. The Stone Mountain Rally was a lot like Camp Granada (for all of us old people who remember that song). We spent a lot of time huddled around a beautiful large firepit INDOORS. Pat Bauer really knows how to build a blazing fire. We had a great time with good food, good drinks and good friends. The weather warmed up considerable when we ar-rived at the FMCA Rally in Perry, Georgia. Arrival for the ECOA Caravan went extremely smooth. It is always so exciting to see all the Entegras lined up at these events. We saw some faces that we haven’t seen for quite some time. National Indoor provided a great meal for us on Thursday night with Tadd Jenkins as the grill master. Af-ter tweeking his abilities as a grill chef for the Entegra group, he took his now professional skills to the Newmar group on Saturday night. RV One provided an amazing dinner for all of us on Friday night. There was dinner, dancing and lots of prizes. In just a few days now, we will all be at Hilton Head RV Resort kicking off the very first AIM Gala. We are anx-iously anticipating this event. This rally will give us lots to talk about in our next AIM newsletter. So stay tuned. Hope to see you there!

Spring is here, it is time to get our motorhomes ready for the season. One of the most impor-tant items on your list should be to perform an

in-depth visual inspection of your motorhome from top to bottom. For this month’s letter, I would like to discuss sealant. It is my belief that water intrusion causes the most RV damage. Guess what, for the most part it is prevent-able. As you travel down the road, your motorhome is constantly flexing the sealant which can induce cracks. By performing a thorough inspection, you can identify potential problems and repair them before they become a major issue. Personally, I perform this inspection ev-ery three months. The one place that gets all too often overlooked is your roof because it is not easily accessible. This is the area where most leaks occur. By the way, just because your motorhome is new do not assume everything is ok. Here is a picture of my 2015 model latest roof inspection.

As you can see a crack has developed along the base of the awning attachment point. This is a relatively easy repair. The repair materials (i.e. Dicor lap sealant, Eternabond tape etc). can differ depending on the type of roof you have (i.e. fiberglass, metal, or rubber) or if it is on a vertical surface. How does the saying go? “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
