Psalm 8

3When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,

the moon and the stars that you have established; 4what are human beings that you are mindful of them,

mortals that you care for them? 5Yet you have made them a little lower than God,

and crowned them with glory and honor. 6You have given them dominion over the works of your hands;

you have put all things under their feet.

This is the time of year when plants and grass seem to grow over-night. As this is a wet spring, this has especially been true this year. Spring has erupted in all its glory; roses and weeds together. Find some time to stop and wonder at the miracle of life God has given to us! Delight in a starlit evening, the sound of tree frogs, the sweet perfume of a rose and the life cycle of a butterfly. As you take in the works of God never let the wonder and joy of God’s cre-ation escape you! Praise and thank God for his many gifts to us, and care for this earth as we are stewards of it; he has given us the charge to enjoy, love and tend the earth!

This is my Father’s world, and to my listening ears, All nature sings and round me rings the music of the spheres.

This is my Father’s world; I rest me in the thought, Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas. His hand the wonders wrought.

Wonder in the wonders of his hand, and listen and rest in his world!

Flat Luther

You may remember flat Jesus from several years

ago who would make travels and daily life with you.

This year, in celebration of the 500th year anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation, we have flat Luther!

Everyone is encouraged to take a flat Martin Luther and

snap photos of him traveling different places with you. It can be

someplace local or far away! Please then email your photos to the

church and we will display them in October and see what and where

Luther was over the summer and fall. (Available in the narthex soon.)

Martin Luther Plush Figure

This 10” Plush Figure is a “true-to-life” replica of Lu-

ther and can stand on his own. He’s fun and makes

a great gift for kids and grandkids. He is a great re-

minder of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation!

If you wish to order one ($15), please sign up in the

narthex. Checks made payable to Concordia ELC.

Hungry for Reform

30th Annual Lower Susquehanna Synod Assembly * June 2 – 3, 2017 Parmer Hall in the High Center for Worship & Performing Arts

at Messiah College in Grantham, PA Our theme for the 30th annual Lower Susquehanna Synod Assembly is R3: re-FORM + reNEW + reVISION. Together we will explore congregational renewal that springs from nurturing relationships with God, with one another, and with the com-munities our congregations are called to serve. We’ll also worship, learn about ministries and mission happening here and around the world, and celebrate life to-gether as synod. Pastor and 2 lay members will be attending.

OPPORTUNITIES
