What’s new at the Blair Area Chamber of Commerce
Another Gateway to the West Days has wrapped up. We were able to hold all of our events
this year which we are all thankful for! The Taste of Blair and Community Band Concert had
to get moved at the last minute from the Depot to the Blair High School. This seemed to be
very well received by everyone in attendance, and the plan will be to keep it at that location
in the future. The Gateway June Jam featuring “ENVY” was a very fun evening! Mother Na-
ture really was very kind to us on Saturday for the Car Show, Arts & Crafts show and the pa-
rade! I am certainly thankful for that as are all the volunteers and everyone that worked so
hard on their floats. The parade went very well over all. I am interested In feedback though!
I have gotten some really great fresh ideas to consider for next year to help things go
smoother and be safer for everyone involved. Thank You to all of the other sponsors for the
weekends events, I believe a wonderful time was had by all!
The weekend before Gateway to the West Days, was the Open House at Cargill. For the first
time since they opened in Blair, Cargill opened its doors to the public. There were Trolleys
available to take people through the entire campus, plus you could stop at any location and
get a tour from employees. There were activities for children and it was a great educational
opportunity for adults as well. The picture below is from the ceremony on Saturday.
We had one Ribbon Cutting so far in June at the Cottonwood Cove & Marina and a second
one coming up on the 30th at Hopkins Law. There are a few coming up in July also, so please
watch for those and try to get out to welcome and show your support for these new busi-
nesses to the Chamber and the community.
Next week I am heading to the University of Georgia in Athens to attend the US Chamber’s
“Institute for Organizational Management.” It is the professional development program of
the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. With courses on topics such as media training,
membership, finance, legal issues, human resources, and much more, Institute ultimately
educates participants on all facets of running a nonprofit organization. This is a wonderful
educational opportunity and will allow us to expand the benefits of your Membership with
the Blair Area Chamber of Commerce. I will be checking my email if you need to reach me.
Shannon will be in the office 9-3pm every day next week.
Have a safe and happy 4th of July!

“Oh my, that hurts so good!” That is one of the many comments coming
from patients at Blair Chiropractic Centre. The doctors at Blair Chiropractic Centre specialize in Active Re-
lease Techniques®, a soft tissue technique that allows them to help the muscles, nerves, ligaments, and
other soft tissues in addition to the chiropractic adjustment.
The treatment feels like a very specific deep massage and
helps them work with patients who have trouble with their el-
bow, knee, foot, sciatica, shin splints, headaches, and a whole
list of other things.
Dr. Faye Jones started Blair Chiropractic Centre in 1989 and
sold it to Dr. Becky Heller in January 2011. Dr. Faye continues
to work at the office as well as travel around the country
teaching ART®. Dr. Becky is also certified in Webster technique,
a technique used to care for pregnant women, and is working
towards her certification in pediatric chiropractic through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Associa-
tion, ICPA. Through the ICPA, Dr. Becky holds Pathways Connect meetings. These are meetings for moms to
get together and ask questions and get advice from other moms who may be going through similar situa-
tions with their children. It’s also a great place for moms to meet other moms, especially when their chil-
dren are not yet in school. Moms do not need to be patients to join
the meetings.
Blair Chiropractic Centre is located in One Blair Place, across from
Washington County Bank. They will be moving to the old Video Ex-
press building before the end of the year. They are open Monday and
Wednesday until 6pm, Friday until 5pm, and the second and fourth
Saturdays from 9-12am. They try to accommodate everyone’s sched-
ule and are often in on their days off. Another doctor may soon be
hired to provide care on the days Dr. Becky and Dr. Faye are out.
Please stop and say hello.
