Holy Land Tour With Father Jim: UPDATED Information: I have been informed by Collette Tours that in order to be able to celebrate Mass with those planning on going with me on the tour to the Holy Land the following change needs to be made: Tour Dates are now: November 7--November 15, 2018 I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. However, I believe those wishing to travel to the Holy Land would agree with me that we would want the opportunity to celebrate the Holy Eucharist at various locations intimately tied to the central events of our faith. The tour company will be sending new brochures.
BAPTISM PREPARATION
All parents seeking baptism for their child are expected to attend a preparation session. Parents are recommended to attend a session prior to the birth of their child.
Next Session of Baptism
Preparation I for first born child is Thurs., Aug. 24 at 6:15PM
The Sacrament of Marriage can be celebrated at a time convenient to the couple and in accordance with the parish schedule. The date and time of the celebration must be scheduled only with a priest or deacon of the parish. Since it is necessary for the couple to participate in marriage preparation prior to their wedding, the couple must contact a priest or deacon of the parish preferably one year prior to the desired wedding date, but no less than six months prior to their desired date. The St. Cecilia Wedding Guidelines 2017, which is available from the Parish Office and on our website, contains additional information and guidelines. Also, please see the Wedding Music Guidelines and Wedding Music Outline for guidance and assistance in choosing your wedding music.

MESSAGE FROM FATHER JIM
MARRIAGE CORNER
“The kingdom of heaven is like a merchant…finding a pearl of great price, he goes and sells all that he has and buys it” (Mt 13:45-46). Your spouse is like that pearl – priceless. Don’t let work, projects, hobbies, or even your children take first place.

As we consider our lives as Christians, it is good to ask our-selves if we are being stewards of our Church. Consider a plan, perpetual gift of financial stewardship to our endowment. Not only are we stewards of our time, talent, and treasure, we are also stewards of the assets that gave us the treasure and opportunity to develop our talents. For more information contact Frank Oppold, 290-1163.
As a reminder: Parishioners who have prepared salads or desserts for funeral lunches may pick up their empty containers in the ushers’ room. Thank you to everyone who helps with these lunches.
