“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the
increase,” (I Corinthians 3:6)
Dear Fisherville Family,
Usually, when I write this article in the monthly
newsletter, I focus on a praise or thanksgiving.
Today, just after a wonderful week of
Vacation Bible School, it is obvious for me to
be thankful and praise God for such a
glorious week.
I am thankful to God for John Proctor, our
Children’s Minister!
I am thankful for all our awesome leaders
and teachers!
I am thankful for all the helpers who served
so faithfully!
I am thankful for over 200 children who
attended!
I am thankful for the 23 professions of faith
made!
But most of all, I am thankful to our great
God, for we may “plant and we may water,
but it is God who gives the increase.”
Thankful to God,
Bro. Jack
Every Sunday is Independence Day
Every Fourth of July, we Americans celebrate
Independence Day in recognition of the
adoption of the Declaration of Independence
by the Continental Congress on that day in
1776. It has become for most of us, a
celebration of the freedom which we enjoy as
citizens of this great nation. We celebrate
with community parades, picnics, listening to
speeches by dignitaries and marching bands.
Every Sunday, we Christians celebrate
Independence Day in recognition of our
adoption as children of God by our Heavenly
Father on the day that we accepted His Son
Jesus as our Lord and Savior. It is for most of
us a celebration of the freedom which we
enjoy as citizens of the Kingdom of God. We
celebrate with our church community
parading in together, sharing meals together,
listening for a word from God and “speaking
to one another in psalms and hymns and
spiritual songs, singing and making melody with
our heart to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:19).
Each Sunday we have a community
celebration of the freedom we have been
given in Christ. I pray you will come
celebrate with us. “It is for freedom that
Christ has set us free, therefore keep standing
firm.” (Galatians 5:1).
Dr. Gary Redding
FBC Fisherville Children’s Ministry
What an awesome week of Vacation Bible School we had
June 13-17. We had over 300 children and adults partici-
pate, 23 salvations , and over $1,600 dollars given towards
our Iowa mission Trip. It was amazing to see how God was
moving during the VBS this year through the music, Bible sto-
ries, crafts, missions, snacks, and recreation rotations. I want
to thank everyone who made VBS possible this year. I ap-
preciate all the time and effort that our leadership team,
adult leaders, youth leaders, and volunteers put in to make
this year a success. Praying now as we continue to follow up
and reach out to the children that visited with us during VBS.
Looking forward to what God is going to do at FBC Fisher-
ville.
For His Glory,
John Proctor, Minister of Children

PRAISE & WORSHIP
Did you know there are approximately 770
references to MUSIC IN THE BIBLE.
This number does not take into count all of the verses contained in the Book of
Psalms, the Song of Solomon, and
Lamentations although all of these books are
generally agreed on to be complete songs in
themselves. As a matter of fact,
the Jews use all of Scripture as a
song book! Psalm 149:6 admonishes to
“Let the high praises (Hebrew word, “Tehillah” =
“Hymns”) of God be in their mouth, and a two-
edged sword (The Word of God) in their hand.

To our Church and Church Family,
The family of Opal Bernadine Williams wishes to
acknowledge with deep appreciation, the prayers,
love, support, food, and your kindness during the
loss of our mother and grandmother. Even though
we rejoice in her going home to be with our Lord,
her earthly presence will be missed by all those
