The Great Zucchini (Eric Knaus),Washington's funniest and mostmagical PRESCHOOL &KINDERGARTEN entertainer willgive a lecture at I.B.M. Ring 50 onSeptember 7, 2011At 8:00 PM following a brief Ring
meeting.The Great Zucchini has been
entertaining young children as amagician and preschool teacher. He
performs his hands-on, interactivemagic shows for more that 400groups a year. His experience, coupled with his gentle nature andwacky facial expressions, makeskids immediately feel comfortableand ready to laugh. He will have youlaughing at the gags he does to
entertain toddlers. We each havedifferent styles, but t does comedown to keeping the kids attentionand keeping control.
If you are a children's entertainer, this is a lecture you will want toattend. There is a lot to be learnedfrom studying Eric's approach toentertaining young children.

Colombinis Lecture
at SAM 252Aldo and Rachel Colombini
presented a great lecture at SAM252 on June 16, at St. Leo's
Catholic Church in Fairfax. Therewere about 20 Ring 50 membersattending the lecture along withmany SAM 252 members.
The Colombinis have travelledextensively for many years (inover 60 countries) and their liveshave been enriched beyond allmeasures by the people they haveme and the places they havevisited. The SAM 252 lecture wasanother stop on their final lecture
tour. They will still be attendingthe odd magic conventions aroundthe world.
Aldo and Rachel Colombini
A note from the ColombinisDear friends in magic, Rachel
and Aldo Colombini here.We are in the middle of our
farewell tour and everywhere wego, the rumor is: that at the end ofthe tour we will leave the UnitedStates and we will go back to ourcountries. We have no idea whostarted this rumor nor why. It is
FALSE and NOTHING IS FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH.We are NOT going back toEurope, we areNOTretiring.
We will just stop TOURING(meaning that we will not stay onthe road for weeks or months. After her open heart surgeryRachel's heart needs a rest and
Aldo is getting too old to goaround like a globe-trotter!).However, we will continue
producing DVDS, tricks and e- books and we will continue livingin the United States. So pleasespread the true around! Thanks forall your support and friendship.
Best always,
Aldo andRachel Colombini.WildColombini.com

AAAuuuggguuussstttWe have had a very good
relationship with the Managementof the Holiday Inn. They give usthe meeting room free in return forour members eating at theEisenhower Station Restaurant inthe hotel. The restaurant
justifiably expects those to whomit gives meeting space to USE itsdining facilities.
Over the last few months hotelmanagement has noted the Ring
50 attendance at the dining roomhas dwindled. This may
jeopardize our relationship for thefree meeting room. The people atthe Holiday Inn have been morethan courteous to us. Members areencouraged to make a concertedeffort to eat dinner at theRestaurant. So come to themeeting at 6:30, have a nice mealin the dining room, chat with theother members, and then attend
the Ring 50 meeting. See moreinfo on page 6.

Bob Littles SuperSunday One-Day MiniMagic Convention.Everyone had a greattime at Bob LittlesSuper Sunday on June12, 2011. The auctionhad tons of great stuffincluding several verylarge illusions. Martini,
the auctioneer, and the support team kept a rapid
pace for 2 hours auctioning the items. Losanderpresented the lecture and the dealers followed withsome of the latest magic items. The evening showwas great. Nineteen year old Matt Schick was theMC and did a super job keeping the show on track.Losander amazed everyone with his levitations.Calvin Tam from Florida had been practicing cardand CD manipulations during the past year but hestill has the flashes to overcome. New York street
performer, Kozmo, gave a great comedy streetmagician routine that had the audience in bellylaughs. Eric Wilzic, also from New York and also
19 years old, presented some impressive illusionson the small stage. Another fun time put togetherby Bob Little and Mike Miller.

S.A.M. Past National President HankMoorehouse passed away July 1 while touring inChina. Hank had an impact on so many lives. He
passed away doing what he loved to do. He was inChina on a magic tour and was giving the
performers their notes when he collapsed. Thefamily was told he did not suffer. Hank's sevenyear old granddaughter, Lottie Beth, asked ifGrandpa was doing magic for the angels in heaven. We are certain he is entertaining them all. We can
picture him sitting around a table with Duke Stern,Jay Marshall and other friends. We do not haveany other details at this time.
