As we carry out our ministry of walking whilewearing our Pray-4-U shirts at Mondauk Park, wecontinue to receive acknowledgement and thanks for ourefforts from people who come up to us there. LastSaturday, we had two encounters almost as soon as wegot started.

One was a man requesting prayer for healing from a

separation that he and his wife were going through. Andanother was a woman asking for prayer support in theraising of her children.

On our final lap, a woman approached us who hadstopped by the side of the road next to the park. Sheasked whether we were associated with the two oldergentlemen that she had talked to the week before who

wore the same red Pray-4-U shirts. We immediatelyrecognized her description of Jack Weber and PaulEdwards, of course, and told her yes.

She informed us that Jack and Paul had prayed withher and her husband, George, that day over his

employment situation. While George had not gotten ajob yet, she wanted us to know that there had beenencouraging interviews and developments in his jobsearch. At that point, George also got out of their carand joined us. As we prayed, we thanked God for thesepositive signs and asked for His continued blessing forboth of them.

It's great when God works and we get the privilege towatch Him do it.

intheNow, that may not sound like a big deal to you, but

that was a major revelation to me. It was huge. Andso, after that, each time the cycle repeated (and itdidrepeat) I got just a tiny bit better at believing inadvancethat God was going to see me through, justas He said. Have I now perfected it? Not at all. ButIm better than I used to be.

The Bible says in 1 Peter 1:6-7, In this you rejoice, even if now for a little while you have had to suffervarious trials, so that the genuineness of your faithbeing more precious than gold that, though perishable,is tested by firemay be found to result in praise and

glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

As a congregation, were going through a toughtime. And there might be all sorts of layers ofmeaning to what were going through. I dont knowabout all those other layers, but I do know aboutone. God wants us to learn to trust Him. He hasntturned on us. He hasnt forgotten us. Hes trying toteach us something bigger and better than we couldever learn if our path remained smooth andunblemished.

And Gods got a mighty plan for thiscongregation. I know it. Going forward, lets devoteourselves to being all that Hes called us to be. Hewont let us down.
