Update from our NRGs

Neighborhood Response Groups in Corte Madera and Larkspur have recently been provided 80 emergency first aid bags, thanks to grants from the Marin County Community Services Fund, matched by grants from the Corte Madera and Larkspur Community Foundations. David Stainbrook conceived the bags and planned and ordered the contents. The picture shows NRG leaders assembling the bags on July 5th in the Community Center. Each kit is intended to tend about ten serious bleed wounds plus a few fractures and will be assigned to an NRG volunteer with sufficient first aid training to use the contents effectively. The NRG Program of Central Marin now serves some 4500 families in our two towns through the dedication of hundreds of volunteers. You do not have to be trained to be a part of this neighbor-helping- neighbor program; you only need to be willing to help. For more information go to www.NRGMarin.org, or contact the NRG Coordinator, Laurie Rice, at [email protected]

Coyote Awareness Late last year, a “Coexisting with Coyotes” forum was held where we discussed the partnership between Project Coyote, Marin Humane, and Marin County Parks. These agencies came together and created the Marin Coyote Coalition to help coordinate the ways in which all of our local agencies respond to concerns about coyotes. Concerns about the presence of coyotes have been brought up within the community. For this reason, we believe it is very important to remind everyone that our website contains very important information that well help you become aware of coyotes. Click here to visit our Coyote Awareness webpage. Additional links also available on our webpage and are also hyperlinked below. Please remember that state law limits the options of local government. For this reason, it is very important for residents to educate themselves on this subject matter. For questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
