MESSAGE FROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Stakeholders:

As I look back at the the last two years since we created Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless, I am amazed by what our dedicated board and volunteers have accomplished.

June 30, 2017 marked the end of our first year of fiscal self-management, and the end of two years supporting our neighbors experiencing homelessness in our community.

This annual report highlights our statistics from the 2016-2017 Warm Room season. I would also like to highlight one of our guests who found work when she formed a relationship with a volunteer. She then moved to a long term affordable housing unit. A family of four arrived at the Warm Room seeking shelter. We were able to provide a motel voucher for temporary shelter. The family was them referred to County services to obtain permanent housing.

As I look back at the the last two years since we created Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless, I am amazed by what our dedicated board and volunteers have accomplished.

Executive Director

As a new organization, we established meaningful relationships with other community organizations. We obtained a grant from El Dorado Opportunity Knocks in partnership

with two nonprofits, Tahoe Youth and Family Services and Only Kindness. The grant will begin a process called "Coordinated Entry" in our county. Partnerships such as this allow each agency to strengthen foundational missions of providing services to the community.

As we move forward into the 2017-2018 fiscal year, we look forward to another operating season of the South Lake Tahoe Warm Room, serving our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness.

We are grateful to all of you for supportingour initiatives to achieve our vision to endhomelessness on the South Shore.

As we move forward into the 2017-2018 fiscal year, we look forward to another operating season of the South Lake Tahoe Warm Room, serving our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness.

6

To support our neighbors experiencing homelessness by participating with our community to promote awareness, provide warm beds, and encourage self sufficiency. The South Lake Tahoe Warm Room is a safe and warm environment that offers overnight refuge for adult men and women who are experiencing homelessness. Our Warm Room program also offers social work visits, drug and alcohol support groups, mental health referrals, and more to our guests to help them get back on their feet.

A county-wide effort to improve efficiencyof local crisis response systems and improve fairness and ease to access resources. This will ensure that the most vulnerable homeless in South Lake Tahoe will not be at a disadvantage compared to the Western Slope, because this service ranks individuals by their vulnerabilities and not their geographic location. By increasing data collection using this process, our county and our organization will be eligible for more funding from federal sources that has previously been unavailable for lack of this process.
