HOMEMAKER 1997-2011While the title of homemaker does not provide a salary, it is a privilege and reward to have the opportunity. As a mother of two, I was able to raise my children full time in a loving environment, teaching them the fundamentals of life and the Christian values I desired to instill in them. I provided structured round the clock care, stayed up all night to care for them when they were sick, kissed away boo-boo’s, played the role of tooth fairy, Easter bunny, and Santa, and kept scary creatures away. I provided activities and outings to help them learn, playdates to teach them social skills, a clean and organized home, home-cooked meals, took them to church and church activities, took them to and from school, volunteered at school, took them to doctor’s appointments, social events, and extracurricular activities. I was at every baseball practice and game, every gymnastics practice and meet, and every wrestling practice and meet. I coached or assisted with their pee-wee and little league sports, helped them with homework and school projects, all while keeping up the budget, finances, investments, taxes, home maintenance, car maintenance, everyday errands, taking care of pets, and my own sanity. My daughter is now a Junior at the University of Mobile studying youth ministry and making a huge impact in the lives of many youth and the community around her, and has served on many mission trips, and my son is a Junior in high school, where he is ranked 2nd in the district for wrestling, and plans to study either architecture or computer graphics design in college.
