Why do I deserve to be a Senior?

JDA STUDENTDr. CarrollEnglish III June 2015

Juan Diego Academy is a Christ-centered, Catholic learning community forming young men and women to answer the call to lead and be active participants in their Church and community.

• I was called to lead at the Mission Regional Hospital and gained about 100 hours of community service.

• Played in the girls soccer team .• Tried to play basketball (desperately failed)

• Ran for Secretary in Student Council for 2015 and won.• I began going to church more often and being more

involved with my community in the church.

JDA’s Vision

My fulfi llment of the vision

Vision

• Due to the quality of education, I only got A’s & B’s this year.• By using a laptop I become more familiar with technology which will help me in

the future.• Religion III opened my mind to a brighter spectrum of my religion.

• I felt like I had earned the responsibility of giving back to my community by helping others through community service.

• I went through challenges I had never been exposed to before, such as online classes, bringing the MedEd program into JDA, and taking workshops at UTPA.

Juan Diego Academy:

• Offers a quality, comprehensive academic curriculum

• Utilizes the latest in technology and innovation

• Educates the whole person: mind, body, and spirit

• Instills a sense of Christian responsibility and service to others

• Trains leaders to meet the current and future challenges of society

Mission

My most valuable school experiences weren't academic. They were all about

people—social skills, respect, self-worth, empathy, and realizing your own

potential. On the sports field, I learned about winning and losing graciously.

In the classroom, I learned that doing your best counted far more than

academic ability; I learned that I was capable of more than I thought, I also

learned how to study and think about ideas through writing and discussion.

The high expectations and rigorous activities provided helped me out a lot.

All of this and more has prepared me for the challenge of becoming a senior.

WHAT I HAVE LEARNED AND EXPERIENCED THIS ACADEMIC YEAR HAS PREPARED ME FOR THE CHALLENGE OF BECOMING A

SENIOR

• Irritating alarm clocks in the morning.

• The difficult task of finding matching socks.

• Making sure I told my mom to pack my lunch.

• The sleepy journey of getting to school every

morning.• Most tragic moment: We

have a quiz today!• Not knowing whether to

wear a blue skirt or a gray skirt.

CLASS OF 2015!
