The all new Spectrix Flush Face series Quick Connectors are designed to eliminate cross-contamination. All units are thoroughly tested beyond operational expectations and ensure a leak free fluid transfer.

MULTICOLOURED; the unique design allows a variety of colours to ensure each one cannot interchange with the other to eliminate cross contamination.

FLAT FACE; each receiver and nozzle has a flat face preventing the ingress of particles and foreign materials, which can sometimes accelerate wear on the receivers and nozzles as well as contribute to contamination.

Evacuation Tool

The Evacuation tool works like the master key and fits over all units. This unit only works in one direction ensuring no fluid is accidentally transferred back into the tank due to a built in check valve. These units are readily available in ¾“ NPT M, however can also can be ordered in a JIC M base.

uniquely engineered

Body and Design – FloMAX have hardened/heat treated stainless steel surfaces eliminating warping. This also ensures a leak free operation which has been tested repeatedly under pressure while being connected and disconnected. FloMAX have designed the receivers to have a specially machined OD sealing surface to mate only with its corresponding nozzle. This allows them to manufacture up to 15 possible combinations.

Spring and Poppet Design – There are 2 great advantages related to the way the spring is designed. The first is that the spring is concealed within the poppet and not around the internal body of the receiver and this eliminates any obstruction to the flow path. The second is that it provides a smooth actuation preventing the poppet moving around and jamming. This allows consistent flow through all colour combinations.

O-rings and Seals – FloMAX use the machined parts to determine the proper crush ratio for sealing. The spring pressure is much less critical with this design and with the internal type seals these are much less susceptible to dirt and soil contamination than a face seal. The static seals are nitrile and the dynamic seals are fluoro silicone and the exposed nozzle poppet o-ring is made from viton.

FLOMAX FLUSH FACE GREASE COUPLING

A new product has been released from Flomax that will revolutionise the high flow transfer of grease. Used in bulk filling transfers the new coupling has a unique ability to be easily connected and disconnect while there is pressure in the system.

This allows the coupling to be used for filling remote grease tanks on mobile and fixed plant equipment where remote filling lines are used.

High Strength; The couplings use a double retaining ball groove designed to increase the assembled couplings working pressures to new heights. This prevents excessive damage of the receiver or commonly seen ball dents when high pressures are applied.

High Flow; The 1” port allows for a excellent level of flow through the coupling and assists with the lowering of the pressure drop on disconnection and reconnection. The internal have been designed specifically for grease flow in mind.

High Quality; The grease couplings from Flomax are designed with stainless steel body and castle . This coupled with the true flush face design, means the coupling is designed to perform and last in a wide variety of applications.

Each connector is identified by colour and is non-interchangeable with other colour components. All connectors are manufactured using 100% metal component with anodised aluminium bases and stainless steel wear components. They use 10 stainless steel ball bearings for greater strength distribution. Each of the aluminium caps have an o-ring seal for greater prevention against contamination and each base are ¾” NPT male threads.

FloMAX have also engineered a ¾ ” series connectors to handle a working pressure of 1500 psi. Each connectors identified by colours is non-interchangeable with other colour connectors. All the connectors are manufactured using 100% metal. The main difference between these units to the standard ¾” series is that all the internal components and the base are made from stainless steel. The pullback, plugs and caps are the only ones made from aluminium. It still uses 10 stainless steel ball bearings for a strong latch.

The FN600 provides the well-known elaster dog latching mechanism with 9 stainless steel dogs. It works great in maintenance facilities and other less harsh environments as it securely latches with a “snap” when correctly connected to a receiver.

FloMAX Fuel Nozzles connect to all standard fuel receivers. The plug is specially designed to seal out dirt and contaminants which is made from PVC and a ¼” wire lanyard. A removable piston assembly allows the cylinder to be easily removed for rebuilding.

The swivels are sealed with two fluorosilicate O-Rings for superior performance even in extreme temperature conditions. The nut and base swivel on 32 stainless steel ball bearings for smooth and consistent movement across all pressure ranges.


FNBL Nozzle

The FNBL has excellent performance and reliability in harsh conditions. The pullback castle is removable without tools, making it the easy to clean and allowing it to be maintained and repaired in the field. The FNBL latches with 10 stainless steel balls making it very simple to use and forgiving.

Standard Diesel Fuel Receivers

FloMAX Fuel Receivers are designed with a patented enclosed poppet stem spring that provides a smooth fuel flow path. This extends both the life of the receiver and the fuel nozzle. The spring is completely enclosed inside the poppet, removing the spring from the flow path, which increases fuel flow and reduces backpressure and vibration. All 1 ½” FloMAX fuel receivers are compatible with industry standard fuel nozzles.

Removable Sleeve Diesel Fuel Receivers

The FR-RS removable sleeve fuel receiver has an aircraft grade anodized aluminium body with a removable stainless steel wear sleeve. This revolutionary patented concept allows the fuel receiver wear surfaces to be replaced without removing the fuel receiver from the tank or the loss of any fuel. The single poppet design has the same reduced backpressure, reduced vibration, and increased flow rate as the FRA, FRS and FR-LP receivers.

FloMAX have simplified the solution for fuel theft. Their innovative design allows maximum flow with minimum back pressure. This can also have the option to have the removable sleeve which can be removed without actually removing the whole receiver. This provides maintenance savings as well as security.

FX1500* Diesel Fuel Nozzle

The FX1500 is the high flow fuel nozzle capable of reaching 1500 LPM. It has the patented removable cylinder shut off mechanism. The FX1500 uses the same O-Ring and Delrin internal components that have been tested to -45º C (-50º F) in Northern Canada.

Bulk Transfer Nozzle

The FloMAX Bulk Fuel Nozzle will transfer large volumes of fuel at high flow rates using existing standard 1 ½ inch fuel receivers. The BFN has a push-to-connect design that releases from the receiver with a gentile pull on the pullback or poly coated stainless steel lanyard. This is a dry break nozzle that uses the FloMAX fuel nozzle vulcanized Viton seal valve sleeve.

Gravity Fill Receivers

The FloMAX Gravity Fill Receivers are made from anodized aircraft grade aluminium. They have a welded on cast aluminium handle for strength and convenience. The tube comes in 2 diameters, the standard 1 ½” and the 1” for use in filling smaller opening fuel tanks. Both diameter sizes come in either straight, with a 45 degree bend, or with a 90 degree bend.

3” FUEL NOZZLE & RECEIVER

The FloMAX 3 inch nozzles and receivers are designed for high flow volume and ease of use. They are a scaled down version of the standard 5 inch API specification. Poppets have a vulcanized Viton seal. Both the nozzle and receivers are machined from aircraft grade anodized aluminium and stainless steel. Receivers are available with 4 base styles. Nozzle latching mechanism uses 6 stainless steel dogs for a secure and positive connection and the locking handle keeps the nozzle from accidently being disconnected during fuelling. The connectors have an excellent flow rate up to 4542 lpm (1200 gpm) at 100 psi.

Standard Fuel Vents

FloMAX Fuel Vents are manufactured using 100% metal components. A billet aircraft grade anodized aluminium cap provides superior impact strength as opposed to the less expensive and weaker plastic and cast aluminium caps on other vents. The float and sealing balls are housed in a ridged ball tube, not the flexible and easily damaged ball spring. This will ensure a positive seal that will not be damaged by vibration and movement. FloMAX vents are available in all standard configurations including male or female threaded outlets, ant-vandalism mount, and half couplings. Stem tubes are available in standard 5”, 7”, 9”, 11” and custom customer specified lengths.

Most non-pressure systems are un-avoidably complicated and require many components and parts to work together systematically in a variety vehicles. Many of these types of systems generally have one or more of the components fail, rendering the entire system on stand-by until the part(s) are replaced or serviced. This can mean a loss of time and money and hence leading to low productivity. FloMAX has developed a simple Non-Pressure System (NPS) that does not require a vast amount of components and still delivers the results required. They use quality materials such as aircraft grade aluminium alloy and stainless steel to produce the best product life span. These systems are available in external or internal setup and are tested prior to leaving the factory to ensure it works flawlessly every time, time after time.

Internal System Key Components

The internal non pressured system requires 2 main components. The 53-FR-NP and your choice of fuel vent. The system is setup is such a ways

Non-Pressure Valve/Receiver

This unit is a combined receiver and valve for internal systems. It features a removable sleeve which allows the client to replace when it becomes worn over time. The unit features the same spring and poppet design from FloMAX range allowing for minimal obstruction to the flow.

Internal Non Pressure Fuel Vent

For every internal system fuel vent there is a 9/16” JIC M located on the bottom of the fuel vent as shown in the picture. It is to be connected to the above non-pressure valve/receiver. Once the diesel fuel reaches the cut-off, it sends opposing pressure down the signal line to the vent/receiver and shuts-off the nozzle. The fuel vents come in a variety of options to suite almost any application.

External System Key Components

Non Pressure Valve /External

This unit accepts industry standard fuel receivers as well as the FloMAX 53-FRX for application with high flows with a 2” NPT F receiver port. It has a 2” NPT M for tank side and 3 x signal line ports assisting in installation factors.

Fuel Receiver – Low Pressure Fuel Receiver

For every external system ordered a fuel receiver will also be supplied. The steel receiver is zinc plated and can also be ordered in aluminium. They contain a special spring for low pressure to operate with the external system. This can also be ordered with the option of a removable sleeve for easy service and low cost maintenance.

External Non Pressure Fuel Vent

For every external system fuel vent there is a 9⁄16” male JIC for external signal line. It is to be connected to the above non-pressure valve via a signal line. Once the diesel fuel reaches the fuel vent cut-off, it sends opposing pressure down the signal line to the fuel vent/receiver and shuts-off the fuel nozzle. The fuel vents come in a variety of options to suit almost any application.

Air Filter & Bracket Assembly

This accessory has the ability to filter out the dust and particles with a 3 micron filter for the ingress of air. It comes with a mounting bracket and can have the filter easily replaced. Most sites prefer to have a filter included in their systems to prevent large particles and dust from entering the fuel tank.

Bell Housings

The FloMAX Bell Housings are available for those applications where the receiver needs to be inset either in the fuel tank or on a bulkhead. Bell Housings are made from formed mild steel with a welded on 2” NPT pipe coupling. They are available in either bolt-on or weld-on configurations.

Breakaway Valves

The FloMAX 2-inch and 3-inch BreakAway Valves are constructed of zinc-plated steel and anodized aircraft grade aluminium. The BAV2 and BAV3 are designed with three shear studs that will break at a designated force when mounted correctly. This will help protect more expensive refuelling equipment and help prevent spillage. To insure appropriate separation at designated foot-pound force, BAV valves must be correctly mounted on BAV Mounts.
