Watchdog Desiccant Breathers are a unique particle filtration and water removal system. Servicing Requirements

All extinguishers have to be inspected every six months. Checks include:

� Hydrostatic testing date stamp is within 5 years

� Extinguisher gauge is within operating range

� Previous test and servicing dates are marked on a metal tag attached to each unit

� The entire extinguisher is undamaged including the cylinder body, valve handle and hose/horn

� Safety pin is undamaged

� Area has no new hazards present that may be outside of the extinguisher’s capability

� If partially discharged, an extinguisher will require specialised workshop refilling

Extinguisher Servicing

Fire Extinguishers installed in all commercial, public and multi-occupancy residential buildings all need to be regularly inspected and tested. The inspection, test and maintenance procedures for fire extinguishers are specified in the Australian Standard AS 1851 ”Maintenance of Fire Protection Systems and Equipment”.There are some key points that the general community and property owners should be aware of, to ensure they receive the appropriate level of servicing.

� Servicing technicians need to identify themselves to a person responsible for the building before completing any work

� The service personnel should sign off all necessary documentation and then explain what service work they are charging for
