Possible Hazards

Possible hazards associated with unintended release from the biogas pipeline facility.

Hydrogen Sulfide is the rotten egg smell, extreme fire hazard, heavier than air, need to use analytical device for detection because it causes olfactory fatigue or paralysis of the sense of smell.

Low concentrations cause irritation to mucous membranes, headache, dizziness or nausea. Higher concentrations (200-300 ppm) may result in respiratory arrest leading to coma, and exposure for more than 30 minutes at 700 ppm may be fatal.
