Back then, people treated me like a trash and every day I was bullied by my classmates. Not knowing what to do, I just wished that I can hide every now and then. But I met a lot of people who are also experiencing what I’m experiencing. I became strong enough to defend myself and to defend them. JOURNAL#2: MOTTO IN LIFE

This song has a lot of meaning to me. Back then, people treated me like a trash and every day I was bullied by my classmates. Not knowing what to do, I just wished that I can hide every now and then. But I met a lot of people who are also experiencing what Im experiencing. I became strong enough to defend myself and to defend them.

JOURNAL#2: MOTTO IN LIFEEverythings going to be alright. Be strong. Believe. This phrase helps me get over my depression, it reminds me to have strength, love and compassion because we all can to make it through.

JOURNAL#3: OF ALL SCHOOL, WHY MAPUA?Of all school, I chose Mapua because this is the best school for engineering courses where most of the Board Topnotchers came here and it is the first institute to be accredited by ABET. Since this is the only school I passed, my parents decided to enroll me here even though I dont want to. But now, I think this is where I belong since most of the people here are honest and competent.

JOURNAL#4: OF ALL PROFESSION, WHY ENGINEERING?Of all profession, I chose engineering because my parents wanted me to take this field. I wanted to be a lawyer, or an artist but they still insist because they saw me fixing a lot of things, and recreating things out of nowhere. Also this is one of the successful profession in the world.

JOURNAL#5: OF ALL ENGINEERING, WHY ECE?I chose Electronics and Communications Engineering because this is one of the emerging field of engineering. This is also close to multimedia so I decided to just take this program. ECE plays a key role in forming the basis of every high technology industry. It also involves in research, creation of new ideas, the design and development of new product and technologies, manufacturing and marketing activities. ECE plays a big role in changing the world, ECEs help save lives by designing medical technological like monitoring devices, surgical robots and lasers, it also help preserve the environment by developing solar or wind power, it also improve the safety of critical high technology systems and reduce human toil in manufacturing.

JOURNAL#6: EXPECTATIONS OF THE SUBJECTFrom its title, Engineering Mechanics: Statics of Rigid Bodies, I think that we will study the forces that will act on a body. I think it would be more challenging and the topics would be harder than what I have learned from Physics 10 and 11. There would also be even more formulas to learn and more applications and problems to encounter. JOURNAL#7: EXPECTATIONS OF THE CLASS AND CLASSMATESBased from what I observed during the first week, many in the class are taking Civil Engineering. Since CEGE Department is in charge of this subject, I expect that somehow I will learn things about their field. And since we are arrange alphabetically, we have an opportunity to make some new friends. Also, from what I observed, most of them are competent and are eager to learn well, so I will do my best to learn and pass this subject.

JOURNAL#8: EXPECTATIONS ABOUT THE PROFESSORBased from what I observed, he has many experiences when it comes to his field and in his life. Also, he is strict in attendance and he wants us to be prepared in the near future, thats why he implemented Formal Day during Mondays. Since he gave as a lot of considerations from the start, I think that he knows what the students feel. He likes to talk and shares lots of experiences that will help us in the future.

JOURNAL#9: WHY DO I NEED TO STUDY? WHERE DOES IT LEAD TO?I believe that education is one of the most important things that everyone must have but not everyone got a chance to go to school to study. We study and we become more a part of the society. Also I believe that education leads to success. Because back then, my grandparents did not have a chance to finish their studies but because of them, my parents were able to finish their studies and became successful enough to provide our needs.

JOURNAL#10: SHORT-AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF YOURSELFMy name is Charl Joseph Baez Santiago. I was born in Capitol Medical Center, Quezon City, Philippines on November 15, 1995. Both of my parents, Charlie and Lydia Santiago, are working overseas, so I grew up living with my relatives. I studied lower and middle school at Saint Joseph Catholic School where I have received awards every year for my academic performance and graduated with honors. Also, I competed in national and international contest when it comes to digital arts like UNESCO, ADB, C2, Digital Arts Contest. Middle school for me was a lot of fun than lower school since I met people who were like me. It thought me how to feel loved, pain, reject, and joy. Right now, Im studying at Mapua Institute of Technology, Intramuros, Manila taking up Electronics and Computer Engineering and I am in my third year now. Hopefully, two years from now, I will be graduating and acing the ECE Board Exam. And I hope that I will be working in some prestigious company like Sony, Nokia, Samsung, Apple, etc. Or if not, I will be taking Multimedia Arts and Sciences and masterals in ECE. I want to help my parents and my relatives as far as I can go so that I can return what they gave to me.
