Jai Sadana of July 2009 Remember, water is precious -R.Anirudh 8B We have an interesting day on 22nd March. The UN calls it World Water Day, as water has become a topic for serious discussion all over the world. Poet Coleridge who wrote, water, water everywhere, nor any drop to drink. He was referring to the vast oceans and seas which have salty water. The poet seems to have predicted the present day water scarcity. Some 200 years ago! We do need water for cooking, bathing, washing clothes and vessels Water for drinking is most important of all. You will be shocked to know that right now there is no water to wet the thirsty throat of the worlds population. It is feared, that situation might only worsen!. We have many rivers, lakes and ponds which give us good water, but many of them have become polluted. We human beings are responsible for water pollution. We should not throw garbage or allow all sorts of waste and effluent to flow into rivers, making the water unfit for drinking. Dont forget, how we have also been wasting water! The time has come for us to conserve water and use it judiciously. The theme for the World Water Day this year is Shared water - shared opportunity. What a wonderful idea to share the available water with others!. NatureS.V. Swaminathan, 7D We see beauty in nature, And many beautiful creatures. The Plants are future plans, And they act like fans. We see workers working in farms, Causing no harms. We get help from trees, Without giving them fees. The beauty in the river, Is like a sleeping tower! Beauty is seen in fire, When it raises higher. The white bright moon, Is like a moving toon. Always we see sun, In a faster run. We see many fields, With full of yields, Like the dancing maize And of course! Rice. We see many mountains, Like beautiful fountains. We see birds in sky,

Flying so high. Farmers grow crops, Even on mountain tops. We must have an attitude, To thank natures gratitude. With Nature we are tall, Without nature, we will fall. Fantastic daysG.Swathi, 8C Marvelous Monday which makes me Happpy. Tutelage Tuesday which makes me Jolly. Wail Wednesday which makes me Sad. Taciturn Thursday which makes me Talking. Fabulous Friday which makes me Tame. Sensible Saturday which makes me a Singer. Stupid Sunday which makes me like a Ginger. September 2009 Edition My Ambition, B. Yogesh 10A

The view of light from darks After five or six ages from that Thee step, view the golden barks Strive the bark selection with a happy pat. The axe to slice was midget and frail Unable to pierce the golden wood But would be bolstered its head and tail And would supply robe, shelter and food A couple of ages would thereby end Thee choose a bark that coruscates thy eyes, But it may be dingy to your age friend But thy bark golden one as your like ties. The, five or six ages would gradually skip Would also be bolstered thy axe to whittle And the bark thee chose may be firm in your tip Or a bark vicissitude if the hearts a brittle Terminally arrives the eminent end of teens Thee choose a bark that your life likes May still exist the first chosen carrier means Or the selection may have had constant hikes. Whatever thee choose harden or deaden Neither be lead by the greed of mate Nor by your begetters words of coercion

But only by your craves; not by fate.

MeaningStanza I: After five or six years from the day your were born, you would come to know about the various opportunities in this world. You would also struggle to select your ambition with a pat from your parents [ Bark refers to opportunities; not tree barks ] Stanza II: Actually, your experience regarding the opportunities is very small. So, you are unable to select your ambition. But, this experience would be developed by the action of teachers and this experience would indirectly supply you with basic necessities in your future. [ Axe here refers to experience ] Stanza III: After a couple of ages, you would choose opportunities that shine well to your eyes. But the opportunity you chose may not be like by your friends. But, the opportunity you chose is the golden one for you as it was liked by you (i.e.,) you like it. Stanza IV: As five or six ages then passes, your experience to choose opportunities would also be increased. Sometimes, you may be constant in your decision of choosing any one opportunity. Or you may also be changing from one opportunity to another as your heart is easily changeable. Stanza V: Finally comes the important teenage of yours. Now you need to choose an opportunity that you like the most. The first opportunity you chose in your life may still exist till the end of your lives. Or it can also have constant changes. Stanza VI: Whatever opportunity you chose can be risky or non-risky, but, it must not be led by selfishness of friends. It must also not be lead by compulsion of parents. But you must only choose your opportunities. Not by your fate! Nature B. Varunika

NATURE! Nature is a creature The birds which fly like an arrow mark The clouds which form a temple like a picture The clouds which covers the Sun But the Jealousy which converts The good person into bad due to some reason The birds which sit on the tree As they say to us that they are free The leaves which dry up Say they are warming up The fruits say that we are sweet And it is you wish to eat Without nature we can live Like same as air Birds go in pair

The stars will twinkle As they say that we are bright And we also give you light, The moon which is like silver Which is so bright, that is beautiful Thunderstorms & lightning is dangerous But some peoples mind thinks like A Scavenger NATURE! My Ideas of Happy Life. S. Susmitha 9 B Now-a-days anxiety and worry are rubbing away peace of mind. At present most of all are living a life with full of struggles and hurdles. At present, modern living and thinking added problems, troubles to our daily lie. It is a common belief that money gives happiness. Infact, money multiplies problems which create unhappiness. To live a happy life we should not purchase things irrespective of their necessity. All of us suffer and make our life unhappy. Mostly we imitate others and purchase costly things. This naturally brings unhappiness. Also we should curtail our unnecessary purchase and reduce our wants and desires as far as possible. To have happy life we should feel contented. Without happiness nothing can be achieved. Happiness in life also depends on health of a person. It is said Health is wealth. That is why loss of wealth is nothing compared to loss of health. A person with good health will have sound body and sound mind. So, to maintain healthy life we should do physical exercise. Happiness not only comes through health, it will also come by doing service to mankind. We all know Service to humanity is service to God. We should not hesitate to do service to old and disabled people. As I remember, our great Mother Teresa who gave place for our daily life for orphans. This service no doubt will increase happiness in our lives. Happiness also comes through behaviour, discipline, respect etc., if we give respect to elders, they will bless us. Blessings will give us a happy life. Enjoy yourself! you are born to live a happy life engage in religious discourses and spiritual practices to achieve happiness, peace and tranquility in life. The Fight - S. Sowmiya 9 B A guest was about to arrive to Ramus house for dinner. Ramus mother prepared some junk foods like pizzas and burgers to offer to the guest. She kept it on a table near the vegetable basket and she went away. The junk foods were very proud of themselves. They said to the vegetables, O Vegetables! How poor you are! Everyone likes to eat us as we are very tasty. Now-a-days no one likes to eat vegetables and greens. How poor you are! The vegetables replied, May be you are very much tasty, but we contain all the nutrients necessary for a body and we keep a person fit and healthy. Like this, a great argument was going between the junk foods and vegetables. At last, the guest arrived. Ramus mother offered him the junk foods. As the guest was a doctor, he refused to eat the junk foods. He explained the ill-effects of junk foods and asked for a vegetable salad. Hearing this, the junk foods became ashamed of themselves. They stopped teasing the vegetables. On the other hand, the vegetables were very happy. So, as students, we should know the ill-effects of junk foods and we should eat more and more vegetables.

Expressing my View about Corruption T. Manoj, 9B Corruption is an evil. It is mans creation for his own destruction. It is still becoming worse today. Men want to get things done quickly and selfishness has increased both in high class and in low class society. Corruption is nothing but compelling an individual to favour one. People are addicted to it because of poverty and greed. In olden days people worked selflessly. In this competitive, modern scientific world people want to raise their standard of living quickly in dishonest ways. Corruption has spread all over the world. It is that politicians and officials are earning a lot of money. Even the noble professions like doctors, lawyers and teachers are not free from this defect. From the peon to the high official all are involved in it. Smuggling, black marketing are other forms of corruption. Before scandal is an act of world wide corruption. It reflects upon the standard of our nation. Corruption is created by masses. Gradually it will leave the world. OUR VISIT TO SECRETARIAT R. Haarika, 10C Ten of our schoolmates and myself under the guidance of Principal and two of our English teachers visited the Secretariat one of the key buildings in Singara Chennai. We started at 8:15 am and reached there about 9:00 am. Then we entered in at 9:40 am and we were listening to all the conversation till 11:00 am. When we entered the hall, it was as silent as a meditation hall. The spokes person Mr. Aavudaiyappan was busy solving disputes among the different party members. There were more than 100 ministers, out of which 10 were women. A minister raised the question that they had got a land in Tambaram and what about that? Did the DMK party construct any building after coming to power. Then another minister who was responsible for all these said that they had laid construction for 45 buildings out of which 25 are completed, 20 are in progress. Then a minister from Dharmapuri district demanded for basic amenities in Anjaneyar temple at Dharmapuri where 1 lakh people would visit annually. The minster responsible responded that he would provide if the entry fee was increased and he would even request to the cleaning of the river. There ended the peaceful demonstration. Then a minister readout the schedule timings for each party. The angry opposition party started demonstration. Though, the speaker tried to convince the parties, Mr.Mahendran from the minority opposition revolted. Ten people including two women were dragged out by the security people because they were out of control. The education minister thanked the minster who was responsible for constructing a school.

That school contains 2500 students out of which 1500 are girls. So, he asked for separate Girls High School, so that it would be more comfortable. The agriculture and milk production unit minister said that he had improved the quality of milk and thereby labourers and he said that there is finance problem. After few moments, again the revolt started. The protest was about freedom for speech. The speaker said that the party was given 2 minutes extra to speak i.e., 17 minutes, whereas, the time allotted was 15 minutes. Again the protest started. The opposition parties banged on the bench to show their opposition. Finally, the chief minister arrived and the assembly continued. Thank God! It ended peacefully. Global Warming B. Anitha 10C We all know the earth is getting warmer. In the last century alone, its temperature has gone up 0.70C. Climate models project that the average temperature could rise further by at least 1.10C in this century. In the 5 billion-year-old history of our planet, such a rapid increase has not been seen until recently. Why is the Earth getting Warmer suddenly? It is because the percentage of the green house gases-mainly carbon-di-oxide in the atmosphere has been going up steadily. Just as a glass green house traps the suns heat, green house gases like Co2 and methane too lock in the heat energy from the sun into the atmosphere. Of course, green house gases are very important; without them the earth would be too cold to support life. But increased levels of these gases means more heat is getting trapped in the atmosphere than necessary. Most scientists agree that humans are solely responsible for higher levels of green house gases. The single largest culprit is the thermal power plant that emits Co2 when a fossil fuel like coal is burned to produce electricity. Also, garbage landfills release methane another powerful green house gas into the atmosphere. Emission from factories and vehicles as well as air conditioners do their bit to warm up the Earth. Hence, Scientists are currently exploring the possibility of using bio-fuels for transport. How can you make a difference? You dont have to wait until you grew up to do something about global warming in your own small way, you too can contribute towards the cause. Walk or use a cycle whenever possible. Use public transport or car pool. Always remember to switch off the fans and light. Remove mobile charges from the socket after charging. Plant a tree and take care of it. Each and every human beings on the Earth have a share of responsibility to save Earth from the pollution. We, the people of the world must get together and work together to save our Earth and Nature Which is the gift of god to us.

Plant Trees!

Save the Earth!

Jai Sadana of October 2009 Laser and holograms - N. Karthika 10CA Laser beam can cut through steel as easy as a knife cuts through butter. A laser is a device that produces a powerful beam of light. The word laser stands for light amplification by stimulated Emission of Radiation. All lasers produce coherent light. Coherent light is very pure, which means that all the light waves have the same wavelength they are all in Step with one another, and they are all traveling in exactly the same direction. Laser light can be used to create three-dimensional photographs called Holograms

How a Laser works? The heart of a laser is a material called a lasing medium. The lasing medium is given energy, usually by an electric current or by light from a device called a flash tube. The atoms of the lasing medium absorb the energy and then give it out again as waves of coherent light. The light reflects back and forth between two mirrors, becoming more and more intense, until it emerges from one of the mirrors as a laser beam. Holograms: Holograms are photographs that appear three-dimensional (3D). This effect is produced by taking a photograph using two different sets of light waves from a laser beam. Holograms have many uses because they allow people to see an object from different angles

The Honey Bee - S. Susmitha 9B The honey bee is a social insect. It is a fly known to man for its usefulness from olden times. The bees are mostly found in tropical countries. Honey bees are mostly vegetables feeders. Bees thrive best in the forests and gardens. They live in hives. Bee-hives are made up by the wax produced by them. In a hive there are several parallel combs which are divided into hexagonal shaped cells. The cells are divided for storing honey, for living and for laying eggs etc. They live harmoniously and work for the common good of the colony. In a colony there are three types of bees namely queen, drones and workers. The colour of the bee is usually brown or black. It has small body with tiny head. The head contains a pair of eyes, two antennae, a trunk to suck nectar and a sting to bite the enemy. It has two tiny legs in the front and four sturdy legs in middle. It has two wings. There are bees like flying and humming ones other than honey bee also. Honey bees are very useful to man; they provide honey, bees-wax and also help as pollinators. Without bees fruit formation in orchards and grooves will reduce very much. Thus bees help very much indirectly for our agriculture economy.Bee keeping is a very good and useful to pass time that improves the economy of man. Birds and wasps are the enemies of the bees. Man, it seems to the worst enemy of the bees. All the things in this world are all Gods gift to us. Like that we have such a useful honeybee. We should not harm honey bees. We should protect them. I end this by writing Help Everyone, Dont Hurt Anyone. A Tribute to Mother - K. Soundar Rajan 10B Mother whose presence gives, meaning to every creation. A Mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one can take. Mothers love kept you alive, only love can keep any one alive. Thank you for making us feel that nothing that you have achieved is worth more than our love. A mother is a loving angel. In her arms you find warmth and love which you can never find anywhere else.

Mother leads you from untruth to truth, from darkness to light and from death to immortality. Mother is the heartbeat in the home; and without her there seems to be no heart throb

Intelligent Indians S. Sowmiya, 9 B Five Indians and five Americans were traveling in a train. All the five Americans got the ticket but the Indians brought only one ticket for all of them. When TTR came for checking all five went into the toilet. TTR knocked the door of the toilet and they showed only one ticket which they have got and escaped from the TTR. The Americans were watching all these. Next time, the Americans also followed the same method. This time the Indians did not buy any ticket. The Americans as usual went into the toilet. Instead of TTR the Indians knocked the door. The Americans thought it was the TTR and gave the ticket. The Indians took the ticket and now the Americans were left in trouble. Three Americans went on a tour to a village in India. On their way, they saw a broad river. They wanted to cross the river to go to the other end. First American prayed, God, Please give me a bundle of wood. God granted his wish and he gave him a bundle of wood. He crossed the river in I hr. The next American prayed, God, Please give me a boat so that I could cross this river easily. God granted his wish too. With the help of a boat, he crossed the river in half-anhour. The third American prayed to God, God, Please transform me to an Indian. According to his wish he was transformed to an Indian. He walked a few steps in the rightward direction and found a bridge. He walked over the bridge and crossed the river in 10 minutes. Indians are always intelligent but they are not using their intelligence in a proper way. So as sincere citizen of India we all should act wisely and intelligently. We should be proud to be an Indian The Memory of This Incident St Sonali, 9B Last year I witnessed a daring bank robbery. It was Monday. I had gone with my father to the Punjab National Bank to encash a cheque. The Bank was crowded with customers. There was a great rush to each counter. I also stood in a long queue before the Savings fund counter. There was nothing unusual for sometime. Just then six persons entered the Bank. They were dressed in uniforms. They pretended to check up the security arrangements of the Bank. For some time none could know what the matter was. But soon it became clear that they were bank-robbers. They had pistol and daggers. Within no time, two of them, snatched the gun from the watchmen standing at the gate. The others proceeded further. They pushed the customers aside and ordered them to keep back. One of them entered the managers cabin and aimed his pistol at him. One of the robbers threatened the staff, at the point of gun to remind who they were. Two of the robbers forced their way to the cash counter and began to fill their bags with currency notes. There was no movement from any corner. None was ready to risk his life. The robber took away

the bags and rushed out. It all happened within minute and the manager who was watching everybody helplessly now took courage and rang the alarm bell. But it was too late. The robbers had sped away in a car which was waiting outside for them. Meanwhile the police arrived on the scene. They chased the robbers, but the chase proved futile. The police found the car, it has been abandoned by the robbers on a wayside road. Let us hope that trace out them. What a good imagination!

Sarathjeyavanth 9C I started my journey on a pleasant day by Thai Airways from Chennai International airport. I was very much excited as it was my first journey through an aeroplane. I enjoyed a lot. I was feeling at the top of the world as I am flying many kilometers above the land surface. I was little bit afraid too. But it was so nice. I arrived at Dubai International airport on a sparkling night. I went to my fathers house by a car which my father arranged. It was so pleasant to watch building that touched the sky. There are many parks and amusement parks which I enjoyed a lot and thrilled. I enjoyed the waves of the beach as it is so calm and not so violent as beaches in India. The climate was hot during the day while cold in the night. I got many friends from my fathers circle. They were really so good. As we all have fun between each other. The style of life is different in India, When compared to Dubai. The U.A.E Government gave main importance to women rather than men. The cops are also very strict as there was no theft, car accidents or murders. By seeing the cops activities I really want to salute them and I want Indian cops to be like them. There is no problem for foreign citizens in U.A.E. I returned with some sadness and finally reached Chennai after a 50 days tour.

Terrorism - S. Largest Snake Nisha, 10C Remember the giant snake of movie Anaconda which swallows the whole human with in a matter of seconds. Now imagine a snake many times bigger than that in real life. In fact the remains of giant snake which was living 60 millions years ago have been found by a team of scientists in Colombia. The team claimed that it was the biggest snake even found. The have named it titanoboa cerejonesis, meaning itanic boa from cerrejon, which is a coal mine where the remains of snake were found. Titanoboa was longer than a bus a weighed around 2,500 pounds. You are looking at Vertebrae from 2 species of snake. The smaller model on the left belongs to anaconda, a giant serpant that can grow to 7 m in length & weigh 45 kg. It is largest snake alive. Order of Love D. Lavanya, 6A One Sunday afternoon a childrens program was on broadcast from Chennai radio station. It was Pappavukku Oru Kathai presented by Radio Anna. Hello!, Brothers and sisters, Good evening to you all helping others is a good habit. You should learn that habit from your

childhood. Hey. A boy has a doubt. Anna we are all small children. What do we have? How we can help others? It is funny. Aha. Your questions are right. You too can help others, How? Do you know? When your teacher asks you to write the lessons after teaching, many may have pens or pencils but some may not have. At that time, you can help any of them by giving your extra pen or pencil. Thus you can develop your helping nature and all will appreciate you. Isnt it? Ok! Listen to the programme. There was a gentleman who worked hard right from his early days. He became very rich and very popular through out the world. Once he became sick and was admitted in a hospital. He lost his wealth on his medical treatment. Thousands of people came to meet the gentleman in the hospital. They brought large number of orange and apple. The room was about to fill with fruits. So, the gentleman asked his attendant Mr. V.K. Acharri. can you squeeze all fruits and prepare juice? He replied, Yes, I can So he prepared juice and poured in big jars. Sir,. The juice is ready said the attendant. The gentleman said at once, Please serve the juice to all the patients and their attendants in this hospital with the permission of the doctors. Then the juice was supplied to everyone in the hospital. Dear brothers and sisters what a noble character he had even in his sickness he never forget to help others. Do you know who is he? He is Kalaivanar N.S. Krishnan. Clean Habits and eating habits V. Lijitha Kumari, 6A Clean Habits: Keeping clean is necessary for good health we must develop clean habits. The immortal asset Education Education means bringing up an individual mentally, physically and morally. Education exercise the brain, sharpen the intellect and makes the logical understanding incisive. The mechanical infrastructure of our body needs regular and meticulous attention. Brain, perhaps the most complicated of all machineries is the most fragile part of the human system. Life is really dull and dreary if it is not kindled with the flambeau of education. to play a significant role in a persons life. There is an age old Chinese proverb which is very explicit in its relevance. If you plan for a year, plant a seed. If for ten years, plant a tree. If for hundred years educate the children and people. According to this proverb, when you sow seed once, you will reap a single harvest. When you educate the people you will reap hundred harvests. Education is at the heart of any solution we may think of for the problem of India. There is a need to revolutionize the educational system, which should be the focus of all the efforts. The vanities of education of our time are tremendous. Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man. Education is not the amount of information that is put into your brain and runs riot there, undigested, all your life. We must have life building, man making, character making assimilation of ideas. We want the education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased and by which one can stand on ones own legs. The very essence of life is education and the very essence of education is concentration of mind and not the collection of facts. Education is the essence of all knowledge; nothing can be done without it. Ninety percent of thought force is wasted by ordinary human being and therefore he is constantly committing blunders. The trained man or mind never makes a mistake. The strength and force of blow come through education. There is no limit to the power human mind. The more concentrated it is the more power is brought to bear on one point, that is the success. All the knowledge that the world has over received comes from the mind, the infinite library of the universe is in our own mind. Hence education is an immortal asset. According to the saying The ink of a scholar is more sacred than the blood of the martyr is the duty of all the men and women to be educated. Education is a must for the well being of human beings. Let us try to make our country peace and prosperous. Try to make India the Leading top star. Jai Hind! Happy and Unhappy and in life- Divya Varshini, 10A If you are happy in life right now, its not because everything about your life is necessary going right, but because a relationship that really matters to you the most is going great. If you are unhappy in life now, its not because everything about your life is necessarily going wrong, but because a relationship that really matters to you the most is not going great. A Friend from Birth to DeathD. Geetha- 10C Trees are gift of nature. Their beauty and grandeur has always fascinated man. The green tree has filled our hearts with great pressure. Trees are our friends. They live with us from birth to death. When a baby is born we put him in a cradle which is made from a tree when he goes to school. He uses desk and chair which is made up of a tree, the pencil he first uses is made of a tree. The fruits and vegetables he takes everyday is from the tree. The rubber which we use is from the trees. It gives us shelter and good breeze. It takes the air we give out and gives oxygen. Trees help us to bring down the temperature of the surroundings area. The bed we sleep is made from the tree. The sofa we use in the house is made from the tree. The cotton we stuff in the pillows is from a tree. The doors and windows in our home is given by a tree. When a man

dies his body taken in a coffin box, which is made of a tree and at least he is burnt with wood which is from a tree. Thus a man from birth to death is attached with a tree. For his living the trees have sacrificed their lives; but what has man done to the trees? Think of it! At least in future we will take an oath that whenever a baby is born a small plant should be grown in every house. Trees are eternal source of peace and vital energy. Thus we should protect and preserve them to save our future and environment! Remember Trees are green Gold! FriendshipG. Hindu Mythology

Hindu Mythology The Story of Rama and Sita: Lord Rama was a great warrior King who was exiled by his father Dashratha, the King of Ayodhya, along with his wife Sita and his younger brother Lakshman, on his wife's insistence. Lord Rama returned to his Kingdom Ayodhya after 14 years, in which he finished Ravana of Lanka, who was a great Pundit, highly learned but still evil dominated his mind. After this victory of Good over Evil, Rama returned to Ayodhya. In Ayodhya, the people welcomed them by lighting rows of clay lamps. So, it is an occasion in honor of Rama's victory over Ravana; of Truth's victory over Evil. The Story of King Bali and Vamana Avatar: The other story concerns King Bali, who was a generous ruler. But he was also very ambitious. Some of the Gods pleaded Vishnu to check King Bali's power. Vishnu came to earth in the form of a Vamana dressed as priest. The dwarf approached King Bali and said "You are the ruler of the three worlds: the Earth, the world above the skies and the underworld. Would you give me the space that I could cover with three strides?" King Bali laughed. Surely a dwarf could not cover much ground, thought the King, who agreed to dwarf's request. At this point, the dwarf changed into Vishnu and his three strides covered the Earth, the Skies and the whole Universe! King Bali was sent to the underworld. As part of Diwali celebrations, some Hindus remember King Bali. The Defeat of Narkasur by Lord Krishna: Lord Vishnu in his 8th incarnation as Krishna destroyed the demon Narkasura, who was causing great unhappiness amongst the people of the world. Narkasura was believed to be a demon of filth, covered in dirt. He used to kidnap beautiful young women and force them to live with him. Eventually, their cries for rescue were heard by Vishnu, who came in the form of Krishna. First, Krishna had to fight with a five-headed monster who guarded the demon's home. Narkasura hoped that his death might bring joy to others. Krishna granted his request and the women were freed. For Hindus, this story is a reminder that good can still triumph over evil. Krishna and The Mountain: In the village of Gokula, long ago, the people prayed to the God Indra. They believed that Indra sent the rains, which made their crops, grow. But Krishna, persuaded the people to worship the mountain Govardhan, because the mountain and the land around it were fertile. This didnt please Indra. He sent thunder and torrential rain on the village.. Krishna saved them by lifting the top of the mountain with his finger. The offering of food to God on Diwali is a reminder to Hindus of the importance of food and it is a time for being thankful to God for the bounty of nature

Swami Vivekananda Quotes Our duty is to encourage everyone in his struggle to live up to his own highest idea, and strive at the same time to make the ideal as near as possible to the truth. Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life-think of it, dream of it, live on idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves every part of our body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.

How to Increase The Strength of Personality

A.S. Thushara , X , A

13 Nov 2010

How to Increase The Strength of Personality In our modern world improvement of ones personality is quite essential to impress others, to give others an ideas of ones self-esteem which contributes success in life. Most of the person in these days have high self-confidence and they want to win over others by hook or by crook. The days of absolute honesty and straight forwardness are over. And these the days when the strong over power the week by using their mental power and by physical power. Sometimes a person may be intelligent, uneducated and may not have a good position in life and yet he may shine being superior to others just because of his verbal skill. So what matters these days is force full personality which does not mean lording over others by tricking them, by misguiding them, by giving them some false promise. A force full personality is the ability to stand out distantly from other displaying ones strength of mind and character. This does not mean that the person is extraordinarily intelligent and has distinguished himself in a particular field but only the power of impressing with ones confident looks and behaviour. Personality is a psychological term which denotes the inner and the outer as parts of the person. A force full personality has indefinable charm. Sometimes a person with a natural charm, and powerful personality we can say it as natures gift. A self assertive and a self-confident personality promotes the interest of a person. But self-confident is not the opposite of gentleness, Self-confidence and sweet manners should go together for the development of a good personality.

He felt sad and while returning home, he saw a big well used for drinking purpose. The well was built with big rocks. He noticed that the rock itself got concised as the string moved frequently over it for taking water from the well. Values of Journalism. Words, Words, Words - words are very powerful. The pen is mightier than the sword, says the Proverb. Words can change the government, turn the religious fights into vice-versa, make the coward brave, enhance the business and enrich the students knowledge. Journalism provides all the things. Journalism is a science, as well as an art. A journalist needs lot of experience and practice, keen observation on men and matters and a critical mind to shine in this field. A journalist should have necessary liberty and freedom to publish his views and observations. A parachute works, only when it is open This is even true for our mind. When the minds of the students are open, there is no doubt about the flow of ideas, actions, and thoughts. The journalism provides an opportunity to share the experiences, among the school community. It encourages the students to see things in a different way and pen it in an impressive way. It develops the efficiency in students to put forth their ideas in an expressive and impressive way for the readers. So, journalism is a powerful weapon used to fight against the evils in the society. I hope that the present day journalists, can change the world and make it an ideal place of the people to live morally.

IMPORTANCE OF INDEPENDENCE DAY

S. Jayalakshmi , IX , C

13 Nov 2010

IMPORTANCE OF INDEPENDENCE DAY India attained Independence on 15th August 1947. Mahatma Gandhi, the father of our nation, fought against the British rulers in a non-violent way. He was sent to jail several times by the British rulers but he was brave enough to meet the threats of the rulers. Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel, Kamaraj, Rajaji and so many other joined Mahatma Gandhi in the freedom struggle. Mahatma Gandhi started non-co-operation movement and salt Satyagraha in which many patriotic Indians, joined together. Our struggles against the foreigners were backed up with truth and Ahimsa. We are celebrating Independence Day every year in August 15th with grandeur. Our government has declared August 15th as a national holiday. We have suffered a lot to get our motherland freed from British. Many people scarified their belongings, families and lives too for the nation. So, we must work together for the improvement of the country. By languages we are many; but as a nation we are one. Hard work, sincerity and dedication alone will improve the condition of the masses who are illiterate and poor. A Visit to the Zoo. Our school arranged a tour to zoo last year. The other two sections also accompanied us. They arranged 3 buses for each sections. We were a jolly party, laughing and joking. We got down from the bus and proceeded to the zoo. We were thrilled to be in the small world of animals and birds. The wild beasts like the lion, the tiger and the bear were ferocious looking. The tricks of monkeys and apes made us laugh. We threw groundnuts, biscuits and bananas towards them. They picked them up greedily and ate them in no time. The snakes were, however, a terrifying sight. The various reptiles their long bodies, their forked tongues and glassy stares filled us with fear. The elephant, the camel and the tall, long necked giraffe amused us very much. We spent some hours gazing at all the animals. We saw wild and very thick skinned animal rhinoceros and hippopotamus in a big pond. Then we spread out lunch basket on a grassy plot and ate the lunch greedily because we were hungry. As the evening came on, we unwillingly left our dumb-friends and returned to Bus parking. When we returned home, we proudly related to our parents and elders about the exciting experiences in the zoo.
