Overall Objectives
1. To study the impact of the social and physical
environment in terms of tobacco, alcohol, food and
physical activity on residents cardiovascular health
2. To provide scientific evidence for policy makers to
intervene at the population level to prevent the first
cause of death in Europe

1. To run a formative research phase using an
qualitative approach to identify and understand
the main features of the environment in relation
to CVD and the main pathways of this relation.
2. To develop a methodology based on state of the
art techniques to characterize the social and
physical urban environments in a systematic
and accurate fashion.

the United States with this relation in Europe.
4. To evaluate naturally occurring changes
