UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates howmuch of the sun's UV radiation is absorbed. A fabric rating of50 will allow only 1/50th of the sun's UV rays to pass through.This means the fabric will reduce your skin's UV radiationexposure significantly, because only 2 percent of the UV rayswill get through.

All Jonsson Workwear is rated UPF50+ for excellent protectionagainst the harsh effects of the sun. Our workwear has beentested by independent, accredited laboratories and ratedaccording to Australian / New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 4399Sun Protection Clothing Classification.

An important factor to be considered when selecting yourJonsson Workwear is that the protection offered by this garmentrelates to fabric only and the manipulations involved in garmentmanufacture may lower the UPF of the material. The rating isfor the fabric only and does not take into account the designof the garment. UPF protection can be lessened if the fabric isstretched, wet, in close contact with the skin, or worn out dueto wear and tear over time.

To ensure complete protection for outdoor workers, Jonssonrecommends clothing that provides maximum body coverage,application of sunscreen and a broad-brimmed hat.
