Why Not Experience Christmas? We get busy around Christmas. Too busy.
It’s soon over, and we’re left empty and even a little sad.
Why not experience Christmas? Why not find inspiration in the truths that give lasting hope? In the midst of the season’s busyness, why not make time for church?
Join us each Sunday in Advent for “Reasons for Hope” – a series of messages based on the first chapter of John’s gospel.
Angel Tree MinistryGreetings in the name of Christ,
As Christmas approaches, we are preparing for the Prison Fellowship Angel Tree Ministry. Spring Hill Baptist Church has been involved with this ministry since 1995 and your commitment has enabled this ministry to successfully cover all these children every year. This ministry specifically serves children who have been touched by crime and poverty.
The gifts are delivered to the homes of these children, making this program especially personal. Along with the wrapped gift, the gospel message is presented through age specific books. Please help us show Christ’s love by participating in this ministry. There are a variety of ways one can participate:
1. A participant may choose a child’s form, purchase a new gift (approx. $25), wrap the gift, attach the form and bring it to the Activity Center no later than Wednesday, December 10, 2014. Gifts will be sorted into their respective families then delivered Saturday, December 13.
2. A volunteer may choose to donate cash or check (approx, $20 per child) and we will purchase, wrap and deliver the gift to the child’s home before Christmas. Checks can be made out to: Angel Tree.
3. On Thursday & Friday (December 11 & 12) we will be preparing the gifts for delivery in the Activity Center starting at 10:00 a.m. Anyone interested in helping please come join us.
4. On Saturday, December 13, 2014 we will deliver these gifts to the homes of the children. Anyone wanting to help deliver these gifts please give John a call at (251) 680-4613 for more information.
Forms are available in the Sunday School Departments and the Education Office. If you would like for us to answer any questions, please call us at (251) 937-1361 home, or (251) 680-4613 (John’s) cell.
The overall goal of this program is to allow the Love of Christ to touch those children that have been touched by crime. Please join us in prayer that the Lord will allow this program to once again serve all these children with the faith, love and hope that only Christ can give.
In Christ’s Service
Every good and perfect gift is from above...
