Process Management

Managed Prudential’s Full-Service Contract Review Model Project for Defined Benefit (DB), Defined Contribution (DC), Total Retirement Solutions and Jumbo markets, providing a valuable implementation toolkit addition and reducing transition contract cycle time for new DC business from 90 days to 30 days while also refining process maps and utilizing them for developing “what if” business scenarios via process flow simulation tools for management to make informed business decisions.

Managed several large, successful Business Process Redesign projects in the Claims Business Group in the Worker’s Compensation and Automobile Physical Damage area at The Hartford:- Reviewed claim business readiness & processing time, addressing appraiser concerns and inefficiencies as well as

updating equipment, boosting productivity in the field; and- Established standards using change management methods including consistent equipment and vehicles across the

country, yet with flexibility to address needs of specific circumstances and geographic locations. Served as Quality Examiner, reviewing processes, functions and streamlining operational activities, saving up to

$300,000 annually in value-added resources/reallocations:- Trained over 700 State of Connecticut employees in Malcolm Baldridge quality fundamentals, equipping them to

Co-manage WellPoint’s Regulatory Forms & Rates Filings and QHP Template Submissions for fourteen state networks in compliance with all Federal and State Regulatory agency filing & certification requirements plus delivery dates. Track all tasks and milestones required to ensure completions, handoffs & impacted business function timelines are in alignment and synchronization form an enterprise perspective. Determine business readiness for variability and processes needed to meet timelines with sudden changes to state and federal deadlines.

Managed Prudential’s Defined Benefit Regulatory Program, determining and monitoring operational risk in terms of financial, credibility and legal exposures with ongoing metrics and management reporting, ensuring compliance.

Managed and implemented two large Prudential Retirement project improvement efforts:- Managed the DC New Business 24 Hour Blackout Period Project, tweaking processes, turnaround times and area

payments to via change management techniques for claims providers, reducing cycle time from four weeks to one week, slashing costs from $5 to under $1 per transaction and reducing provider inquiries.

Financial Management

Oversaw all Vendor Management and Production Support Demand Management System requests at Prudential, monitoring and reporting within Defined Benefits Services, ensuring vendor adherence to contracts/service level agreements, resulting in no exposure to fines.
