PRIMARY FUNCTION OF THE JOB:
The Stage Manager will be responsible to and, for the day to day running of the production elements of The ACC Liverpool Group. The Stage Manager will provide technical support and crewing during get in’s and get out’s and to operate technical equipment during events as required alongside the Technicians. The Stage Manager will be responsible for the safe use and storage of The ACC Liverpool Group’s rigging equipment, in consultation with the store technician and the Production Manager – Entertainment and Sport. The Stage Manager will spend approximately 30% of their time in a planning role, assisting production managers with their rigging planning, and assisting the Production Manager – Entertainment and Sport with planning for events, and coordinating the venue LOLER testing schedule. It is expected that the Stage Manager will have at least two further areas of expertise and will be trained if necessary on other areas of operation. The areas of operation are defined as: AV (projection, video and data), Sound, Lighting and Rigging. All technicians will be expected to make a significant contribution to The ACC Liverpool Group in all technical areas. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated to ‘get the job done’ and have experience working as a Stage Manager in a multi-purpose venue or theatre environment

Production:
• Management of the Production activities of incoming professional and non professional organisations using The ACC Liverpool Group facilities including conference clients, promoters and contractors hiring the facilities for artistic and conference purposes.
• Ensure the proper use, care and first line maintenance of The ACC Liverpool Group rigging
equipment, including the counterweight and motorised flybar system, and including negotiation of services with external suppliers if and when needed.
• Ensure that housekeeping is of an excellent standard and that The ACC Liverpool Group
equipment is not misused or misplaced. To keep all production areas & store rooms in a safe, clean and tidy condition & to positively drive the housekeeping standards of The ACC Liverpool Group.
• To take a proactive role in maintaining compliance within the legal framework of Current
Health and Safety regulations as they apply to production work practices and the maintenance and upkeep of departmental records.
• In maintenance periods the Stage Manager is expected to lead on the maintenance of all
rigging equipment and draping and assist the store technician in the audit of this equipment.
• To assist the Production Manager – Entertainment and Sport with the coordinated planning of the venue LOLER inspection, liaising with the service provider onsite and obtaining and storing inspection records.
Management:
• Production Management of specific events if and when needed as specified by the Senior Production & Technical Manager or the Production Manager – Entertainment and Sport.
Staffing & Service Partners:
• To provide supervision, guidance and support for all casual staff & freelance staff in safe working practices and the running of events.

• To participate in all aspects of training and development as directed and to use all relevant learning opportunities to improve personal skills so as to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of technical service delivery.
General:
• When appropriate to work unsociable hours including overnight, weekend, customary and statutory holidays, possibly at short notice.
