Job Description: Program Assistant Organizational Background Our mission is to assist in the coordination of high quality, culturally proficient delivery of HIV/AIDS services in the Denver Transitional Grant Area (TGA). The Council sets priorities for the services most needed in the Denver Transitional Grant Area (TGA), decides how much Part A (Title I) money should be used for each of these services (resource allocation), and develops a plan to provide these services (comprehensive plan). These decisions are based on an evaluation of the needs of people living with HIV (needs assessment). The Council also evaluates the administrative efficiency of the allocation of funds. The Denver TGA includes the Colorado counties of Adams, Arapahoe, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas and Jefferson. Council members are appointed by the Mayor of the City and County of Denver, and include community members. More information about DHRPC is available at www.dhrpc.org. Primary Responsibilities Responsible for administrative content management of website (Basic site updates; agenda, minutes, community calendar, data and reports). Attends committee and Council meetings to set up and run audio/visual equipment as needed. Coordinate and Disseminate Council related information (mailings and email notices). Maintains and updates Council/committee database and hard files. Coordinates meeting logistics. Attends weekly staff meetings. Assists Project Coordinator with various duties. General office duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

Strong organizational skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience taking and transcribing minutes

Proficiency with Microsoft office Suite 2007and/or word processing, database and spreadsheet applications

HS diploma or GED and 2 years experience in administrative support CHARACTERISTICS

Team player and strong communicator

Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and manage time well

Strong customer service and public speaking skills

Quick learner who focuses on high productivity and results

Professional, friendly, and enthusiastic personality

Self starter with a proactive attitude who can anticipate needs COMPENSATION 30 Hours a week, $12-$16, commensurate with experience. APPLICATION PROCESS The position is available immediately.
